On Wednesday, 22nd January 2014, a meeting took place at Casa Pannini in Cento, about the project “Spazio ai giovani”. The following people took part at the meeting:

_ Youth policies assessor Claudia Tassinari (Cento Municipality);

_ Ferfilò cultural association (Alessandro, Alice and Enrico);

_ Phorma Mentis (Alessandro and Caterina);

_ Fra le Quinte cultural association (Catia and Giacomo);

_ Oratorio San Biagio Church ( Nun Elisa)

_ Amnesty International – young section

_ Mondo cultural association (Alessandro);

_ Scout (Stefania).

Right after introductions from all participants, the project “Spazio ai giovani” was explained.

Ferfilò Association in charge for the project’s implementation, explained activities done so far, such as “Aperiforum” of 18th January, and showed some pictures from that event. Some participants asked some questions about it, and in particular representatives of Amnesty International – young section, asked for a collaboration in the project, in order to try to attract and to involve more young people; it is difficult, in fact to speak about delicate matters such as human rights to young people. Answering to this proposal, Ferfilò’s representatives highlighted that the topics of the groups formed at “Aperiforum” were connected to that matter.

Furthermore, Amnesty International’s representatives underlined a new need, that was to redefine a new way to involve young people. A signature’s collection nowadays is not enough anymore. Ferfilò’s representatives, said the strength of “Aperiforum” ‘s organization, was the young people’s involvement from the beginning of the activities with enthusiasm and participation. Consequently, the turnout was more than expected, 50 or 60 young people.

The same problem underlined by Amnesty International’s representatives, was also supported by Nun Elisa, and they agreed, music and sports were 2 of the most direct ways to involve young people, above all in the age of middle school. A different approach was considered for high school’s people; try to involve them directly into the activities proposed could be the best way.

A discussion about methods to involve young people followed.

An important goal to reach would be the involvement of young people coming from suburbs close to Cento, that are part of Cento’s borough. This need was considered also in previous years, since the lack of transport towards Cento.

Another need considered was the availability of a practice room for bands. Ferfilò Association gave availability for AlleArti’s rooms to all young people who need it, for meetings or general gathering, obviously, only activities related to association’s purposes.

It was also remembered to all participants to spread all events and activities related to the project “Spazio ai giovani” to all young people in towns close to Cento, because everyone who wants to improve Cento territory was welcome.

In the end, all participants’ contacts were taken and it was said that on the 1st February, the following participated path would had place.
