Your Company’s Website

Work with a partner and create an idea for a business. Think of at least 5 products or services you could provide.

To promote your business, use Publisher to design a Website. Open Publisher, and click on Web Sites and E-mail in the New Publication area on the left. Using the Easy Web Site Builder, choose a design. Add the following pages to your site:

Tell customers about my business

Tell customers how to contact us

Sell products

Display a calendar or schedule

Provide links to other Web pages

Complete the Personal Information box for your business.

Delete the Product Detail pages. Click on page 5 on the bottom toolbar, then click Edit, Delete Page. Repeat until you have removed all of the Product Detail pages. You should now have 6 pages on your Website.

Choose a color scheme in the Task Pane on the left (View, Task Pane).

Complete each of the pages by changing the text boxes to the information about your company and products. Change pictures by right clicking and choosing Change Picture.

The Home Page should describe your Website, the About Us page should describe your organization, and the Contact Us page should provide directions and a map to your location.

Make sure you have 6 products on your Product List page complete with descriptions, pictures, and prices.

Include at least 2 events on your Calendar page. Describe the event and provide a contact for more information.

Include 6 Related Links on page 6. To create a hyperlink, type the name of the related Website (Google). Highlight the name of the site, and click Insert, Hyperlink. Put the URL (http://www.google.com) of the Related Link in the Address box and click OK. Be sure to include a description for each Related Link.

Preview your Website. View, Taskpane, Web Site Options, Preview Your Website. Make sure all hyperlinks work.

Each group will present their Website to the class.
