DelawareValley Wrestling Foundation Meeting

Members Present:

Regular Meeting:

Raffle - Tickets In, License In. Will disperse in lots of 10 with a master sheet. We are collecting home and cell numbers of those who were given tickets. We need to put together a collection date and make it public.

Karina Inglin displayed poster for clinic using High School wrestling poster from 2008 adapted to display information about clinic. I was okayed and will be used in local places to help get the word out.

Special Meeting - ‘Terrier Dome’

  • Raffle Outline - Hold raffle of a home with tickets being sold 10,000 tickets at $100.00 per ticket.
  • Home would be built after raffle was over
  • Building Outline - Building to be just under 22,000 square feet with two sections
  • 50*100 Wrestling Practice area big enough for 2 mats (10’ ceiling)
  • 120*140 Open area for 4 mats (20’ ceiling)
  • Upper level seating for approx 400-600 seats
  • Male, female bathroom
  • Office
  • Utility Room
  • No way to avoid beam in center of room, but enough room for four mats
  • Heating Fuel depends on location if in Kingwood, natural gas and option
  • Large Garage style door for entry
  • Estimated building overhead approx 2k per month including heating.
  • Discussion of Building Topics
  • Would need Board of Trustees to run facility
  • Need commercial location
  • Alexandria center location for wrestling community
  • Two locations over near Route 12 in Kingwood (near Razberries)
  • Possible location near Riegel Federal Credit Union on 519 heading out of Milford
  • Parking lot at this location would be a plus
  • HollandTownship owns this property
  • Properties know as Perrine’s on 614 side would be easy access for outside travelers
  • Possible ideas to raise money for upkeep and costs
  • Wrestling Club
  • Gymnastics, Basketball, and other indoor sports use facility
  • Dances
  • Ballet and Cheer Clubs
  • Possible resize of building or build in segments
  • Build smaller part and facilities first
  • Probably not cost effective
  • Lower size if whole building to three mat
  • Possible to use local wrestling friendly contractors to reduce costs

  • Karina to investigate our raffle license for legality and to see it covers the scope of this idea
  • Doug will approach the Alexandriacontacts that he knows to see if they are open to the idea of purchasing land from the park area
