Fun Guy Fun Gal Fun Run Details
Racers can register at the Girdwood School from 8 - 8:45 am on Saturday, September 5, 2009. Race starts at 9 am
Directions to school: Travel approximately 2 miles up Alyeska Highway then turn left on Hightower Road (city center). School is at the end of Hightower Road.
Race Course Details:
Course starts at the school playground and then gets onto the Iditarod Trail. This part of the trail goes through a spruce/hemlock forest. Please be aware there are lots of exposed roots, and if it’s wet out, the board walks will be extremely slippery. Follow trail to Crow Creek Road, cross the road and continue on trail. This next section of the trail goes through a meadow, gets back into forest, crosses a couple small streams and then meets up with Crow Creek Road again. There are some muddy sections in this portion of the trail. Racers will run down Crow Creek Road until they reach the junction with the Iditarod trail back to the school. Take the Iditarod Trail back to the school and end in the playground. The entire route is 4.6 miles. There will be a water station on Crow Creek Road. Water and snacks will be provided at the finish line.

See directions above to the school. Register for race before 9:45 am. Race starts at 9:45 am.
This race starts at the school and follows Tiny Creek Trail to the Creekside Apartments. They will go across the road at the crosswalk and return to the school on the bike path. The route will be clearly defined and volunteers will be stationed along the trail to help any runners who need assistance. The total length is less than 1 mile. Prizes will be awarded to all participants.
