WATER PROJECT SCORING RUBRIC
GOAL:
To understand how the supply of clean water is essential for the survival of a society and a civilization
OBJECTIVES:
To learn about and understand how water flow occurs in the city of Waterbury
You will receive TWO test grades for this project. One is for the presentation of your findings (your paper and group presentation)
and the other is for the research you did which will be evident in your research log and the sources you have cited.
SCORE #1 – RESEARCH AND FINDINGS
Maximum Points / Your TotalREQUIRED ELEMENTS:

GUIDING QUESTIONS:
• Where does the water initially come from?
• Where does it begin its earthly journey?
• What company or government agency is in charge of the water you use?
• Where does this company/government agency get the water it sends to your apartment/house?
• What is done to the water before it is sent to your apartment/house?
• How does the water get to your apartment/house?
• Where does the “dirty” water go after you use it?
• How does that “dirty” water get to the company/government agency?
• What does that company/government agency do to the “dirty water” after it gets it?
• Where is the water sent?
• How does Waterbury handle water coming from storm drains?
• Use these same questions to guide you when researching your neighboring town.
SCORE #2 – PRESENTATION OF YOUR FINDINGS
PART 1: Individual Written Response (70%) / Maximum Points / Your TotalREQUIRED ELEMENTS:
