TRI-LAKES CORVETTE CLUB

MONTHLY MEETING

AUGUST 10, 2012

The Tri-Lakes Corvette Club met Friday, August 10, at the Plaza View Restaurant at 6:30 with 63 in attendance. After dinner, President Dan called the meeting to order. Dan introduced guests visiting from Iowa and Kevin and Lisa, prospective members from Harrison, AR.

Linda Adams told us about a planned cruise for Sunday, Aug. 12th to Zeo’s in Springfield. They planned to meet at Branson West Wal-Mart at 2:00 and leave at 2:10.

July was a busy month. The Green Forest Lions Club car show was Saturday, July 14th.

All members present received a Top 75 plaque, and our club won the club participation award ($200) for the 3rd year. We voted among the members to give the award back to the Lion’s Club for their eyeglass program.

The cruise to the Pizza Cellar and Copper Creek Distillery was a great success with approx. 50 members participating.

The 11 cars that went to the Hannibal, Mo. Car show last weekend had a great time.

Charlie & Sam Whitledge won 4th place in their class, Larry & Shirley Reynolds 3rd place in their class and Steve & Cheryl Luehrs 1st place in their class. That’s pretty good in a show with 130 corvettes.

There were several shows scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13th. The Shepherd of the Hills

Show was all this weekend. There is a Route 66 show in Springfield on the square.

Siloam Springs Casino show, and the Outback Corvette Cruise In here in Branson.

Several members expressed interest in the Outback show.

Aug. 25: NW AR Corvette Club Summers End Show, Promenade Mall, Rogers, AR

Aug. 25: Frisco Days Car Show, Downtown, Rogers, AR

Sept. 8: Walk the Streets of Bakersfield Show, Downtown, Bakersfield, MO.

Sonja Blow made a “Special Presentation” of a “Tomato Face” T-shirt to Tomato Face,

Oops….I mean Sherri Rook.

Andy reported that the new web page is up and running. If you have any trouble getting on, contact Andy. The web site will have a printable member list on it. We voted to give Jacob Tucker $500 for developing the Web Site.

Andy also reported there are 13 cars going on the New England trip this fall.

Members working on the Vettes 4 Warriors show have been visiting other clubs in Springfield and Springdale to bring other clubs in to help with the show. Plans have been made for lots of cash prizes for the show.

Lana was not here to give treasury report…she will catch it up when she returns.
