Honors Program in Linguistics

The honors program is excellent preparation for graduate school and is normally completed in the senior year. Students admitted to the program take two regular graduate classes for a letter grade, typically in the fall and winter terms. It is recommended that these courses form a cohesive program, i.e. LIGN221A and LIGN221B. Students also enroll in LIGN199H (P/NP) with a selected advisor, normally in the spring quarter, and complete an honors paper under the direction of the advisor. These three classes are part of the 12 required courses for the major.
