GAHAN HOUSE NEWS-

A Chara,

On behalf of Gahan House and its Board of Management, we are respectfully asking you all to support our local TD, Ann Phelan in the upcoming General Election on the 26th of February.

Our experience of Ann down through the years, as a Councillor and as a TD, has been unquestionably positive. She is hard-working, reliant and true to her word.

As outlined previously, Ann’s support for Gahan House has been unyielding and for many years, like other Care Homes within the South-east, we had no one to fight our corner for us on the political scene.

Ann took up that post and actively lobbied hard on our behalf to ensure that we received the required funding needed from the HSE to keep our doors open.

For many years, Ann has been the “lone voice” for Community Care Homes, and this has not gone unnoticed around Carlow and Kilkenny. We are firmly of the view that we cannot afford to lose this kind of strong representation in our town and in our county.

We need to look after our community by keeping one of our “own” there to represent us and our needs.

Ann’s record not only for Elder Care, speaks for itself. We need to retain this kind of representation.

If you value our community and the position of our town going forward, I would strongly impress upon you all the need to VOTE 1 ANN PHELAN on the 26th of February.

Kind regards, GAHAN HOUSE RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION

Graiguenamanagh Angling Club

“LET COMMON SENSE PREVAIL”

As a lifelong, paid up member and supporter of Fine Gael, I know first-hand the importance of the democratic process and the value of casting your vote.

I have always actively engaged with and exercised my right to vote in support of my political party on each occasion and preference vote thereafter.

But, there comes a time when you have to see the bigger picture, moving beyond political affiliation and family practise and acknowledge what is in the best interest for your area, for your community, for your family and for you.

Since Ann Phelan’s election to Daíl Eireann and in particular, her promotion as Minister of State for Rural Development, she has delivered a great deal for Graignamanagh, but also, for Ballymurphy, St Mullins, Borris, and the greater South Carlow region.

We have never had that kind of representation prior to this.

We would be foolish in the extreme if we do not vote to keep a Minister in our area. For the first time in my life, I will be voting Number 1 for another political party but more importantly, I will be voting Number 1 for Ann Phelan, our local TD and Minister, because the value of retaining such strong representation in our area is immeasurable.

As I outlined at the beginning-
