FLOODLIGHT LUMINAIRE RANGE DESIGNED FOR SPORTSFIELD, SECURITY, HIGHMAST INDUSTRIAL AND GENERAL FLOODLIGHTING

The luminaire shall consist of a high-pressure die-cast aluminium and stainless steel lamp housing with a separate but attached control gearbox and shall be designed to operate 250/400W mercury vapour, 150/250/400W high pressure sodium and 250/400W metal halide lamps.

The luminaire shall bear the SANS 475 mark and the SANS 60598-2-5 safety mark.

The luminaire shall have a degree of protection that complies with SANS 60598-2-5:

Lamp compartment: IP 65

Control gear compartment: IP 65

The IP rating shall be certified by an SABS test report.

The lamp housing shall consist of two high-pressure die-cast aluminium side plates that control the shape of the pre-formed back reflectors by four extruded aluminium staybars. The front glass shall be heat and impact resistant.

The reflector system shall be manufactured from 99,98% super-pure anodised aluminium and shall consist of the back reflector and two side reflectors. The luminaire shall be available in a symmetrical narrow, medium, wide and extra wide beam distribution. Asymmetrical beam distributions shall be available on request.

Lamp replacement shall be facilitated from the side by a high-pressure die-cast aluminium lampholder housing. It shall be sealed with a one-piece silicon gasket and shall be held to the floodlight with two stainless steel screws. The finger grips on the lampholder housing shall be able to be used for visual aiming.

The control gear compartment shall be manufactured from high-pressure die-cast aluminium for good heat dissipation. It shall consist of a lid and body that shall seal the control gear compartment to an IP65 ingress protection rating when closed. The lid shall be held captive by a removable wish-bone spring when opened.

The lampholder shall comply with VC 8011, shall be rated to withstand 240°C/5kV and shall prevent loosening of the lamp caused by vibrations. The control gear shall be incorporated inside the control gear compartment and shall be mounted on a removable gear tray. It shall be suitable for operation with the specified rating of the lamp on a 230V+3%/-10% 50Hz single phase system. All control gear components shall be removable and shall bear the relevant SABS mark. All screws, bolts and metal parts shall be stainless steel or anti-corrosion treated material. Mains connections shall be by means of a suitable screw terminal block with a wire clamping contact. Ignitors, where applicable, shall be of the superposed pulse type. The luminaire shall be power factor corrected to a minimum of 0,9.

The stirrup shall be manufactured from 5 x 40mm hot-dipped galvanised steel. Holes shall be provided for mounting purposes. A stainless steel version shall be available on request.
