Knightly News & Views January 2016

Knights of Columbus Father Henry Kemper Council 6409, Kerrville, Texas

______

My Brother Knights,

As the newsletter is written it is still 2015, so there is some time for reflection before closing out the old and bringing in the new. 2015 bought in some new leadership to the council which brings with it new ideas and plans for the future. Having an active chaplain has been a blessing. Our Deputy Grand Knight really got the ball rolling on our web page. Steve Erickson is always thinking of innovative ideas to raise money from the kitchen. Mike Douville ramrodded our fundraiser this year. The winners could choose jewelry or weapons. What a novel idea! Two of the three winners were active members of the counsel. We through no fault of our own had a negative recruiting year, placing the council into inactive status for the time being. This matter will be addressed and a remedy sought in the New Year.

And ending on a positive Note!

What a Christmas gettogether for Light Up for Christ. None other than Saint Nicolas himself showed up and did a stupendous job of explaining to the children how the idea of gift giving began. We had a good turn out with great food and as always the hall was decorated in the spirit of the season and was made complete by our handmade Nativity thanks to SK Carl Stakes.

Vivat Jesus,

GK Roger Holt
