CLASS TITLE:GRANTS SPECIALIST II

This is work monitoring grant project activities and expenditures and submitting progress reports.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Evaluates and submits progress reports of project activities.
  • Serves as liaison with the grant source.
  • Purchases materials and supplies for project activities.
  • Monitors and coordinates daily grant project activities.
  • Reviews current literature on training programs that could be funded by grants for the program area assigned.
  • Assists in developing writing proposals and amendments.
  • Performs related work as required.

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze data relating to grants project activities.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to grants project activities.
  • Ability to develop and organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, proposals and other written documents.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of professional administrative, fiscal, planning, program evaluation, program monitoring, education, social services, health or rehabilitative services experience.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience.
  • Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
