Hands On Greenville (HOG Day)
GSHRM is partnering with Roper Mountain Science Center for HOG Day. Roper Mountain Science Center (RMSC) is a Greenville School District facility that provides students with enhanced lessons in science, technology and history. / Saturday, May 2, 2015
8.30am – 11.30am
(Optional after party @ Fluor Field 11.30am to 1.30 pm) / 25 total* Families are welcome and kids 10-16 years old must work with a parent/adult. No one under the age of 10 unfortunately. / Replanting plants & flowers along the breezeway outside Conference Center; Ditch and mulch bare areas at entry; Remove dead branches from forest and road; Sweep gravel off the road.
* Volunteers are asked to bring the following tools:
·  Shovels
·  Wheelbarrows
·  Hard rakes
·  Pitch forks
·  Gloves
·  Loppers (large)
·  Hand weeding tools
·  Leaf blower
Water and snacks will be provided.
Greenville Literacy Association
The Greenville Literacy Association (GLA) has served the community of Greenville, South Carolina, and surrounding areas for almost 50 years. GLA is the largest community-based adult literacy program in South Carolina and is one of the most highly developed in the nation. / Saturday, August 15, 2015
(Book fair runs Friday, August 14 - Sunday, August 16, 2015) / Open / ·  Volunteers needed to do everything from "standing guard" of boxes of books that people are planning to buy while they are still shopping, preparing tickets for the cashiers, straightening books and restocking them on the tables
Harvest Hope Food Bank
Harvest Hope Food Bank provides food and nutrition education for hungry people in South Carolina. / Saturday, September 12, 2015
9am -12pm / Minimum of 25 volunteers. Minimum age is 10 to work in the warehouse / Putting food on shelves that has been donated or packing boxes to be distributed

Greenville Literacy Association
The Greenville Literacy Association (GLA) has served the community of Greenville, South Carolina, and surrounding areas for almost 50 years. GLA is the largest community-based adult literacy program in South Carolina and is one of the most highly developed in the nation. / Weekly between June 1 to July 31 (8 weeks total) / Open / Volunteers needed to commit to pick up donated books at one or more donations locations weekly and drop them off at McAlister Square. The donation locations are all Bi-Lo stores in Greenville County, some churches, all Starbucks locations, and some fitness centers. Volunteers can pick the books up at a location of their choice, so it could be a place where they already go regularly, or pass by daily. Delivery of the books to McAlister Square is Monday-Friday 9am to 4pm, and there are people there to help unload them.
