Course Description:
Algebra 2 course is designed to build on algebraic and geometric concepts. It develops advanced algebra skills such as systems of equations, advanced polynomials, imaginary and complex numbers, quadratics, and concepts and includes the study of trigonometric functions. It also introduces matrices and their properties. The content of this course are important for students’ success on both the ACT and college mathematics entrance exams. Students who complete Algebra II should take Pre-Calculus next..
Course Requirements:
Materials:
•Three-ring Binder/Notebook
The student will be required to organize all material from class and finished homework this binder. This is useful to keep all handouts, homework assignments, class lecture notes, corrected homework, and any other material that will assist the student later in the term for study aids. Binder checks will be done periodically to check for completeness
and organization.
•Loose-leaf paper, and pencil
All work should be done on loose-leaf paper and in pencil. I highly discourage work to be done in pen. I like to keep everything correctable to encourage the learning process.
• Calculator
Each student should provide their own calculators calculator for work done outside of class. Any calculator is acceptable. It is suggested, but not required, that a student has a scientific calculator. Graphing calculator are okay but no suggested at this time.
