Professional Internship in Teaching

Information, Instructions and Application

The Professional Internship in Teaching is the capstone experience that allows teacher candidates to put theory into practice as they work closely with and are mentored by a master teacher. Please refer to the checklist on page 12 of the Professional Internship in Teaching Handbook to determine if you have met all the requirements to intern.

Teacher candidates are enrolled in Professional Internship in Teaching through the Athens campus. All tuition costs are based on the Athens campus fee structure. Interns are assessed an additional course fee upon enrollment into EDPL 4650. Please check Course Offerings for the specific amount.

The Professional Internship in Teaching Application has three parts: contact information/assignment preferences, personal data record, and autobiography. Your personal data record and autobiography are shared with cooperating teachers who are interested in hosting a professional intern in teaching. You should carefully and thoughtfully complete all items, paying particular attention to content, grammar, spelling and punctuation. This is your opportunity to make a great impression and to sell yourself, so please take it seriously and do your best.

Please type all information and retain a copy for your records.
