Condition of use for the Jack Peers building

The person signing the booking form shall be the “Hirer” and will be held responsible for the centre’s proper and orderly use during the hire period. Should these conditions not be met and costs for repair/ replacement or extra cleaning ensue these will be charged back to the hirer. The hirer must:

  • Leave the center in a clean and tidy condition.

Replace tables and chairs where they were on arrival (do not drag furniture across the floor). Please note that due to the low ceiling, care should be taken when moving furniture as damage to the lights is a possibility.

  • Surfaces, including the floor must be swept, mopped/ wiped down.
  • We ask you collect and take home all rubbish that you create, leaving no food crumbs or open food onsite that will attract mice.
  • All crockery will be replaced in the metal brown cupboard and ensure the doors are locked and shut to ensure no gaps.
  • Ensure that all doors and windows are securedlocked
  • Ensure that the fridge is left empty of food and the door is securely shut.
  • Ensure that all taps and lights are turned off upon departure
  • Ensure that the thermo state is returned to 10 degrees on vacating the premises.
  • Ensure that nothing but toilet paper is flushed down the toilets and that upon vacating the toilet area is clean and tidy.
  • not allow the attachment of any device using pins or nails that will cause damage to the centre wall and doors without prior arrangement.
  • Ensure if any wellington boots are used these are returned to the bootroom and the correct size racking.
  • Return the keys to the key holder by prior arrangement.

The “Hirer” will be liable for any damage and all breakages/losses of the contents of the centre, during their period of hire.The hirer must report any damages/breakages/losses to the centre’s contact as soon as possible after the hire period.

The “Hirer” must not, without prior permission:

a) Assign his/her responsibilities to any other person.

b) Sub-let the right to use any part of the centre.

c) Allow anything which may invalidate the insurance of the centre such as obstruction exits or restricting access to fire safety appliances.

d) Allow animals to enter the centre.

e) Allow damage to the floor as a result of inappropriate foot wear i.e. stilettos or hob nail boots. We currently ask if it is very wet and muddy people remove here shoes to protect the center and furniture from becoming dirtied.

f) Allow exceptionally loud music to be played at unsociable hours i.e. after midnight or on a Sunday, and/or allow any other activity which may have a detrimental impact on neighbouring persons and property.

On receipt of the booking form and deposit, your dates will be held and an invoice for the full hire cost will be issued. This must be paid at least 28 days prior to the commencement of the hire period. If payment is not received at this time the booking will become void.

If cancellation occurs and the centre is not re-let the “Hirer” will lose the booking deposit. If cancellation occurs within 14 days, the “Hirer” will be liable to pay the whole of the charges.

The Jack Peers Trust reserves the right to:

a) Refuse any application to hire.

b) Cancel any regular hiring by giving 6 weeks notice to the “Hirer”.

It is the responsibility of the ‘Hirer’ to provideconsumables and resources for YOUR visit. The Jack Peers Centre will provide toiletries,cleaning products and implements for cleaning.

The Jack Peers Trust does not accept responsibility for any damage to, or losses from, any vehicle or its contents, any equipment or other devices in or about the premises of the centre.
