CPR (Country Population and Refugee) Project
Students will conduct research on the population/migration of a particular country. The focus will be primarily on population, refugee origin or major refugee hosting countries, along with general background information. The student will choose a country from the refugee page of the Categorilla and do research on your respective nation-states. The information must be presentable, which can be made on Piktochart.com, or other means of graphic art.
Students will find a news article on the country that relates to refugees, whether it is a host or originating country. In order to do so, Google your country and the word “refugee”. Wikipedia articles will not be accepted as a news article, but can be used to gain background information. You will want to find an appropriate and decently lengthy newspaper article because you will be required to do an ESPN analysis. Highlight/annotate the article for ESPN and include this information in your info-graphic. Students will turn in a hardcopy of the annotated article as well as a works cited for sources used during the project.
The Info-graphic will include the following information:

The region that your country is in (SE Asia, Central Am., etc.)
Isolated map of country (as shown on the right)
Example of formal, functional, and vernacular region.

Annotation: students interaction with the text; underline, circle, square, questions, etc.
Must be printed, annotated, and turned in. Choice of article will be a factor.

You will present your info-graphic in 3-4 minutes. Notecards are required.

Your info-graphic should not be length in words and must show some form of organization.
