Activity Quilts / Aprons & Twiddle Muffs

Increasing numbers of people live with dementia, and carers have discovered that having an “activity quilt / apron” or “twiddle muff” to fiddle with can be helpful.

We need:

  • small tactile items to sew onto quilts and muffs eg decorative buttons, toggles and buckles, bells and beads, small toy animals
  • stitchers and knitters to make them
  • introductions to residential homes who would like to receive a supply

Away From It All Breaks & Treats

We need:

  • money to fund the breaks and treats
  • volunteers to serve on the AFIA Committee
  • referrals from clergy, teachers, social workers etc for those who might benefit

“help those whose family life has met with adversity”

It’s our fifth aim, and these are some of the ways we’re trying to fulfil it locally.
