GUIDELINE FOR AUTHORS

The Journal Economic Ideas and Practice is published by Faculty of Economics University of Belgrade. It intends to cover various issues of economic science, economic policy, business economics, quantitative economics, with special emphasis on institutional, social and political challenges of economic science and practice. This journal is published on a quarterly basis in Serbian, but optionally paper could be written in English (spelling should be either British or American English consistently throughout).

The Journal Economic Ideas and Practice has been guided by the strict international standards in the review process in order to ensure high quality of published papers. Manuscripts will be submitted to a double-blind peer review process. For more details on review process, please visit this link.

COPYRIGHT

Papers submitted for the Journal must not be previously published, nor sent for consideration or be accepted for publishing by other journal at the same time. After the acceptance of the paper, the authors shall sign the Consent to Publish and thus assign the copyright to the Faculty of Economics to publish and distribute the papers.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any information, table, quotation and illustrative material, which have been previously published elsewhere by any means of communication. Authors are responsible for the originality of information in their paper.

PREPARATION OF PAPERS

We kindly ask you to prepare the paper in accordance with the following instructions:

The manuscript should not exceed fifteen pages, in accordance with this Instruction.

The authors have to submit their paper in two separate files: Title page and Manuscript without information on authors.

1. Title page

The Title page consists of the paper title, names of the authors, their affiliations, and e-mail addresses of all authors.

The title of the paper has to be written on the centre of the first page in Times New Roman font, in Bold Capital letters, 12pt. Line spacing is Single, Before 12 pt, After 12 pt. The title of the paper has to be followed by the name of the authors on the centre of the page, on bold letters 12pt. Line spacing is Single, Before 12 pt, After 12 pt. Affiliation should be stated in the footnote. After the name of the author, e-mail has to be put on the centre of the page 10 pt.

2. Manuscript without information on authors

Besides of the Title page, the rest of the paper should include the following parts: Title of paper, Abstract, Keywords, JEL Classification, Introduction, Methodology and Results, Conclusion, Acknowledgements (if any), References, and occasionally Appendix.

Paper formatting

The paper has to be prepared in MS - Word, at the A4 page format (210 x 297 mm). Margins are to be set at: top 5.8 cm , bottom 5.8 cm, left 4.2 cm and right 4.2 cm, header: 4.9, footer: 5.0. The manuscript has to be written in Times New Roman 11pt, line spacing Single, Before 6pt, After 0pt; First Line 1.25 cm.

TITLE OF THE PAPER (Times New Roman, Bold, capital letters, centred, 12 pt, Single, before 12 pt, after 12 pt)

Abstract: The abstract should state the purpose of the research, the main results, and major conclusions in a concise way. References in the abstract should be avoided. The abstract should be written in Times New Roman, Italic, 10 pt. The text of the abstract should be written after the quote “Abstract:” (Bold, 10 pt). The abstract line spacing is Single, Before 6 pt, After 0 pt.

KEYWORDS: Keyword 1, Keyword 2, Keyword 3, Keyword 4 (CAPITAL LETTERS, REGULAR, FONT 10, NO MORE THAN FOUR KEYWORDS)

JEL CLASSIFICATION: No more than five JEL codes. JEL codes can be found on this address.

Charts and tables should be included in the text as they are intended to appear in the final version. Be sparing in the use of tables and charts and ensure that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. The charts have to be prepared in the Corel Draw. Tables and charts have to be numerated and placed on the centre. Titles of the charts and tables have to be in Italic, centred, 10pt, Before 6 pt, After 6 pt.

The formulae have to be written in Equation Editor. They should be numbered, which is displayed on the right side of the page.

Footnotes should be numbered as superscripts (Times New Roman, 10 pt).

References

In-text citations

The reference, which is quoted in the text, has to be placed in the footnote. After the surname of the authors and publishing year in the brackets, authors have to put the page number[3].

Reference list

In the References, authors should only include quoted sources, with the names of authors listed in alphabetical order. If the cited paper has more than two authors, only the surname of the first author and et al. is stated. The author’s name should be followed by the year of publication in the brackets, the title of the article, the publisher’s name and place of publication. Use of DOI is highly encouraged. All references have to be prepared in Latin alphabet.

Papers prepared in accordance with the above Guideline for Authors are to be submitted to the e-mail address: . No fee is charged for the submission and publications of papers.

Submission checklist

You can use this list to carry out a final check of your submission before you send it to the journal for review. Please check the relevant section in this Guideline for Authors for more details.

o  Separate Title page has been made.

o  All the authors have provided their affiliation and e-mail addresses on the Title page.

o  All necessary parts of the manuscript have been provided (Abstract, JEL codes, Keywords, References etc.).

o  Manuscript has been spell checked and grammar checked. If the paper is in English, authors are strongly advised to have their manuscripts checked by an English native speaker prior to submission.

o  All references in the Reference list are cited in the text, and vice versa.

o  All references are in Latin alphabet.

o  Journal policies detailed in the website of the journal and in this Guideline have been reviewed.
