BHS Girls Soccer Booster Club Meeting Minutes August 19, 2014

Meeting was called to order.

  1. Attendance: Amy Leger, Monica Crosby, Sandy Seim, Audrey Wohlers, Becky Hyland Marciniak, Jill Zoschke-Luckraft, Andy Luckraft, Tammy Ramberg, Kari Behun, Mark Oman, Shauna Stephens, Debbie Baurr, Brady Baurr, Jackie Marthaler, Deb Shepard, Joan Timmons, Lanaya Stangret, Cindy Proulx, Lori Bosley, Deb Brown, Scott Zachmann.
  2. Minutes from previous meeting: Minutes from July 21, 2014 were accepted.
  3. Treasurer's Report was given by Deb Shepard:

Account Balance for 8/19/14 $16,969.72

Spent to Date: $29,210.85

Additional expenses that we will have that were not budgeted are:

Carbo-load for 8/19 was required by the school to be purchased.

Addition of the 5th team expenses (uniforms and field costs as the Freshman teams will be playing at the NSC for games) will need to be added in. We had budgeted $1,500.00 for uniforms before we were notified that the school will be purchasing all teams uniforms on a yearly schedule. That money will now be allocated to the 5th team expenses. Additional expenses will be added as they arise.

  1. Committee Updates:
  1. Buffalo Wild Wings Fundraiser on August 11brought in $212.00. We have the opportunity to raise additional money if the Home Team Advantage card is used when dining at the Blaine Buffalo Wild Wings between now and November 16.
  2. Cookie Sales kicked off on Monday, August 18. Each player is asked to sell 20-25 boxes of cookies. The program earns $7.40 per box. We will need to have some volunteers available on 9/5 to help with the cookie distribution at BHS.
  3. Publicity: Ads are due today 8/19.

Game Program — is currently being worked on. It will be an 8 page dual boys/girls program.

Senior Program — Jackie has a form I can send to Cindy/Becky for the info they need to have the girls fill out.

Senior Banner — Banner of Seniors that will hang on the fence is in process.

  1. Season Updates:
  1. Ball Chasers: Monica and Lori are coordinating. If you have a daughter playing on a youth team and they are interested in participating, please contact Lori Bosley.
  2. Youth Sponsor Night: all in the works
  3. Senior Night: all in the works
  4. Fans in the Stands: Deb Shepard has contacted the United Soccer team to see if they would be interested in supplying the small soccer balls for our Soccer Toss. We are waiting to hear back from them.
  5. Carbo Load: Becky Marciniak will be coordinating the Varsity Carbo Loads. We are looking for volunteers from the other teams to coordinate the dinners for their teams.
  1. Post Season Updates:
  1. Banquet: Amy Leger has the banquet set up for Sunday, November 2, at Blaine Brookhall.
  2. Memory Book position is open to volunteers. We are looking for photographers to help take pictures during their daughter’s games. Please contact Lori Bosley if you are interested.

“The purpose of the Blaine High School Girls Soccer Booster Club is to promote the sport of soccer for the students of Blaine High School…[and its] objective is to support the long term growth of Blaine High School Girls Soccer Program and to insure that the students have proper training, equipment, and facilities in which to learn and compete. The goals include but are not limited to 1) provide support, 2) develop a sense of pride and tradition for the students and parents, 3) promote and publicize the high school soccer program in the community, and 4) recognize accomplishments.”
