‘Programme Coordinator

Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, a German Foundation working with partners to promote social justice, is looking for a candidate to fill in the position of ProgrammeCoordinatorfrom Mid-May 2018 (or earlier) in our new Kigali office.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordination, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation of cooperation programmes and the relevant activities in the project line “Social Protection” (national / international workshops, seminars, conferences, consultancies for policy and advocacy support, networking) and other activities of FES;
  • Drafting ToRsfor consultation services with partners and guiding resource person;
  • Coordination of programmeswith FES partners in Rwanda and in the region;
  • Monitoring and analysis of the development of relevant Social Protection Activities within Rwanda / African Countries. This includes maintaining contacts with partners and general research of relevant policy;
  • Quality ensurance evaluation of all activities;
  • Preparation and review of project budgets and oversight of programme logistics;
  • Identifying new partners / working lines.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, LabourStudies, Industrial Relations or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in programme planning and coordination and implementation in the field of Social Protection or related.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality.
  • Strong political, social, scientist, administrative and logistical skills and highly organized and focused on details and accuracy.
  • Deep understanding of the FES organization profile.
  • Excellent coordination, conceptual and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills, basic German language skills are an advantage, French and Kinyarwanda language skills are desirable.
  • Experience in event managementand coordination would be an advantage.
  • Applicant must have Rwandan Nationality or is allowed to work in Rwanda.
