  1. Welcome & Call to Order

Paul called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm.

  1. Principal’s Report from Marsha Arnold presented by Valerie Felix
  • Several activities happening around the school around the theme of Kindness and Caring ending with Pink or antibullying day on the 28th
  • On Feb 20th – Feb 22nd the Student Voice will be selling candy grams for 25 cents.
  • Students write kind messages and send a small bag of candy anonymously to another child.
  • Every student gets at least one bag
  • Thank you Ellen for making the candy bags.
  • The newsletter has the Jelly bean Creed.
  • The Olympics start on the 9th
  • Ms. Salituro, Ms. Rozanski and Ms. Arnold will be doing some pretend speed skating and Paralympic hockey activities
  • Some classes will have an opportunity to see specific events.
  • Springbank Corporation has given our school a sizable amount to be used over the next 6-8 years for breakfast/lunch funding, field trip supplementary funding and purchase of equipment
  • We are purchasing kits of ipads to be used in classrooms
  • They do not wish this funding to be used for playground equipment
  • Paul Moersch has written a letter on behalf of the PAC to thank them for this legacy funding
  • Next installment of the Mural will be done in May on the back wall of the school on Robinson Street. Jason Craft is excited to be working with our students again.
  • No school Friday and Monday.
  • Student Led Conferences on Feb 21st.
  • Mrs. Thoms last day is Feb 16th as her baby is due in March.
  • Replacement is Mrs. Wendy Rogers – coming in tomorrow while Ms. Arnold is away
  • Starting Monday, Feb 19th
  • Elementary experience and is delighted to be working with us.

Bazaar/”Jumble Sale” Update

  • Paul sent out an email to the entire school to inquire interest in the event and only 2 responded
  • ? change the event to a Christmas Craft Fair in December
  • Wendy not able to attend tonight’s meeting however as per Paul she has a Car wash idea and is connecting with Mrs. Arnold.

  • Organized by the Student Voice and Mrs. Arnold

Playground Update

  • Waiting for the Provincial Budget
  • Paul contacted Town Hall for the Pub Night Playground Fundraiser and May/June dates are open at the moment
