I am writing to apply for the position of Postdoctoral Senior Researcher required: Optoelectronics and Photonics as Advertised by SUPA careers website. Please find my CV enclosed.

I am convinced that my industry experience, educational background and enthusiasm would be of interest and relevance to you and your research and commercial projects. I have experience in nanophotonics; biophotonics; basic optical communications and strong expertise in optical interconnects; some optical fibre technology; strong skills in photodetectors and imaging; photonic integration and packaging; micro-fabrication of photonic devices I have applied Multi-Spectral Imaging in several projects and I have gained experience in optical design, optical interferometry for adaptive optics and micro-optics design and micromachining.

I am working in setting up a commercial company with academic and enterprise partners for a novel confocal spectroscopy product with experience in market research with good feedback from Innovate UK 2015, and also applying the next innovative UK call with China. I am actively journal reviewer of the SPIE Optical Engineering and IEEE Photonics Journal.

I am holding a Ph.D from Heriot Watt University. I have contributed to the commercialisation of products within industry and academy. I graduated with an MSc in Embedded Systems from Heriot Watt University, and hold a BEng (Hons) in Electronics and Computing Engineering from Napier.

As you can see from my CV, I can offer a considerable amount of relevant experience:

·  Research and development for MOEMS. Optical Design and Coatings Analysis.

·  Optical design using Ray-tracing in ASAP Optical Programming (Accredited), Zemax.

·  Optical design using FDTD optics in Matlab, Lumerical , Optiwave and RSOFT.

·  Interfacing development in analogue and digital design for optical applications as motion control for fiber optics and lasers.

·  Image Processing for Optical Applications.

·  Interferometry systems design for Incoherent, Coherent (lasers, laser diodes) sources, micro–optics components and adaptive optics.

·  IR Interferometry.

·  COMSOL: MEMs, Beam Propagation, Ray-Tracing toolbox.

·  Spectrometry experienced with the Edinburgh Instruments spectrometer LP920.

·  Labview accreditation and programming for DAQ and Motion control in optical applications (positioning and alignment).

·  Digital signal Processing, medical instrumentation (EEG, ECG, Optical Devices (surgical))

·  Mathematical development and design for Engineering and Optical applications. Design and develop-ping scripts in Matlab and Mathcad for analysis, testing and validation.

·  C, C++ applied to different projects as optical design.

·  Project Manager Course. Used tools: MS project and PRINCE 2.

·  Native Spanish speaker (and of course, I have excellent English language skills too)

·  Learning Chinese at present.
