TEMPLATE PRESS RELEASE – America’s Farmers Grow Communities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Morgan Memorial Foundation, Inc., d.b.a. Gil-Mor Manor and Gil-Mor Haven of Morgan, MN are happy to announce that they were the chosen recipients of a $2,500 donation from the America's Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund in memory of Redwood County farmer Gordon Carlson. A big thank you to Gordon's wife, Rose Carlson, his son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Char Carlson for selecting Gil-Mor to be the recipient of this donation.

Gil-Mor has had the opportunity to serve the Morgan and surrounding area communities since 1961. “Gil-Mor wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the caring and generous community members such as the Gordon Carlson family,” said Terrie Rothmeier, Gil-Mor Administrator. “We work hard to be able to provide quality care to those entrusted in our care. We are very fortunate to have so many caring and dedicated employees, board members, physicians and volunteers that go out of their way to provide the quality of life that all of our seniors deserve.”

“We are excited to team up with farmers once again to help support the causes that mean the most to them and that have an impact in their local communities,” said Al Mitchell, Monsanto Fund president. “Because of their commitment to this program, thousands of nonprofit organizations have been able to enhance the important programs and services they provide, having a positive impact on the communities they serve.”

Since the program began in 2010, the America’s Farmers Grow Communities program has awarded more than $26 million in donations to a broad cross-section of organizations that reflect the makeup and character of rural America, including emergency response organizations, schools, youth agriculture programs and many others. In Minnesota alone, numerous organizations, such as Gil-Mor have received monetary donations toward causes positively impacting farming communities.
