Suggested Intercessions for the Universal Prayer
(Prayer of the Faithful)
Please consider the following intercessions at Masses during National Migration Week
January 8 – 14, 2017
On Migrants
For bishops in our Church, that they may be encouraged by our prayers and support to lead God’s people in building a culture that respects the human dignity of all migrants, we pray to the Lord,
For Catholics, that God inspire them to take action in their local communities to support and protect migrants and to advocate on their behalf, we pray to the Lord,
For unaccompanied migrant children, that God protect them on their journey and safely reunite them with their families, we pray to the Lord,
For our neighbors, coworkers, friends, fellow Christians, and all people, that they may grow in their awareness of the issue of migration and become a voice in the public square calling for greater protections for these populations, we pray to the Lord,
For migrant workers, that they may labor in safe and just conditions, and that we who benefit from their labor may be truly grateful for what they provide, we pray to the Lord.
For migrants, refugees, and all other strangers in our midst, that they may find strength in our concern for justice and feel the warmth of our love, we pray to the Lord.
On Refugees
For bishops, that they will persevere in their commitment to refugee resettlement and provide in their communities a place of welcome, we pray to the Lord,
For refugees who are forced to flee from their homes, that God bring peace to them and their country of origin, we pray to the Lord,
For refugees in Africa, the Middle East, and elsewhere who are experiencing great suffering, that God might bring them to a place of peace and safety, we pray to the Lord,
For refugee children, who have been separated from their family due to circumstance or death, that God will provide his protection, we pray to the Lord,
For an end to all strife and persecution that gives rise to refugee crises, we pray to the Lord,
Government Officials
For the President of the United States and all government leaders: that the Son of God, who became human, will help them understand the great dignity of human persons, and support legislation that better protects vulnerable populations in our midst, we pray to the Lord,
For policy makers in our nation, that God grant them the wisdom to enact laws that provide greater protection for all migrant populations, we pray to the Lord,
For policy makers in our nation, that they will provide the support to migrant populations who yearn for a new beginning, we pray to the Lord.

Sobre los migrantes
Por todos los obispos de nuestra Iglesia, para que se sientan alentados por nuestras oraciones y apoyo para guiar al Pueblo de Dios en la construcción de una cultura que respete la dignidad humana de todos los migrantes, oremos al Señor.
Por todos los católicos, para que Dios los inspire a tomar acción en sus comunidades locales para apoyar y proteger a los migrantes y para abogar por ellos, oremos al Señor.
Por los niños migrantes no acompañados, para que Dios los proteja en su camino y los reúna de manera segura con sus familias, oremos al Señor.
Por nuestros vecinos, compañeros de trabajo, amigos, hermanos cristianos y toda la gente, para que ellos se concienticen más sobre el tema de la migración y se conviertan en una voz en la plaza pública exigiendo mayor protección para todas estas poblaciones, oremos al Señor.
Por los trabajadores migrantes, para que puedan trabajar bajo condiciones seguras y justas y que nosotros, quienes nos beneficiamos de su trabajo, estemos realmente agradecidos por lo que ellos nos proveen, oremos al Señor.
Por los migrantes, por los refugiados y por todos los extranjeros que nos rodean, para que ellos encuentren fuerzas en nuestra preocupación por la justicia y sientan el calor de nuestro amor, oremos al Señor.
Sobre los refugiados
Por los obispos, para que ellos perseveren en su compromiso de proteger a los refugiados y proveerles un lugar de acogida en sus comunidades, oremos al Señor.
Por todos los refugiados quienes están forzados a huir de sus hogares, para que Dios les traiga paz a ellos y a sus países de origen, oremos al Señor.
Por los refugiados en África, el Medio Oriente y en todos los otros lugares donde están experimentando un gran sufrimiento, para que Dios les lleve a un lugar de paz y seguridad, oremos al Señor.
Por los niños refugiados, quienes han sido separados de sus familias debido a alguna circunstancia o fallecimiento, para que Dios les de su protección, oremos al Señor.
Por la eliminación de guerras y persecuciones que dan lugar a las crisis de refugiados, oremos al Señor.
Funcionarios gubernamentales
Por el Presidente de los Estados Unidos y por todos los líderes del gobierno: que el Hijo de Dios, quien se hizo hombre, los ayude a entender la gran dignidad de la persona humana para que apoyen leyes que protejan mejor a las poblaciones vulnerables que se encuentran a nuestro alrededor, oremos al Señor.
Por los que formulan las políticas en nuestra nación, para que Dios les conceda sabiduría para promulgar leyes que proporcionen mayor protección a todas las poblaciones migrantes, oremos al Señor.
Por los que formulan las políticas en nuestra nación, para que ellos les brinden su apoyo a las poblaciones migrantes que anhelan un nuevo comienzo, oremos al Señor.
