39th ANNUAL TRUMAN HIGH SCHOOL
INVITATIONAL VARSITY AND JV WRESTLING TOURNAMENT
December 11 and 12, 2015
The “39th Annual Truman High School Invitational Varsity and Junior Varsity Wrestling Tournament” will employ the following format.
The varsity tournament will be on Friday, December 11th, and Saturday, December 12th, and will be conducted on three mats in the big gym. Thejunior varsity tournament will be on Saturday, December 12th, and conducted on two mats in the small gym.
The tournament will include a round robin format assuring each wrestler of competing five times except for byes and forfeits. All eight places in each bracket will be determined the final day by matches for 7th, 5th, 3rd, and 1st places.
TEAMS
Varsity: Center,Glendale (Springfield), Grandview, Hickman, Liberty North, Ray-Pec, Raytown South, Ruskin, St. Joseph Lafayette, St. John Vianney, Truman and Van Horn.
Junior Varsity: Center,Central Academy, Grandview, Hickman, Liberty North, Ray-Pec, Raytown South, Rockhurst, Ruskin, Sedalia Smith Cotton,Trumanand Van Horn.

TIME SCHEDULE
VARSITY-Friday, December 11th, starts at 4:30 pm
VARSITY & JV-Saturday, December 12th,starts at 8:30 am. The doors will open at 6:30 am on Saturday.
WEIGH-INS
VARSITY-Friday, December 11th, at 3:00 pm
VARSITY & JV-Saturday, December 12th, at 7:00 am.
The weigh-ins will be conducted according to MSHSAA criteria. If any team has a match on Thursday, December 11th,you must notifyLevi Goes, , or Eric Holm,,at least 48 hours in advance so all teams can have a one-pound allowance.
SEEDING MEETING
The seeding meeting will be on Friday, December 11th, in Room 235 at 3:00 pm, and will be conducted according to the current wrestling rule book.
ENTRY FEE
The entry fee is $300 for varsity and junior varsity, $200 for varsity only and $150 for junior varsity only. Please make your check payable to “Truman High School” and mail to:

ADMISSION
There will be an admission charge for all spectatorseach day of $5.00 (adults) and $3.00 (grades K-12 and senior citizens). No passes will be accepted at the tournament.
SCORING
In the event that a wrestler is placed in the incorrect bracket after wrestling in pools it will be the responsibility of the head coach of that wrestler to inform the tournament director. The head coaches will then vote to change the wrestler’s position in the brackets. This is an issue we have encountered in the past due to the automated scorer system that is used in this tournament.
AWARDS
Trophies will be presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. Varsity medals will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each weight class. Top three individual place winners are asked to remain in uniform for the presentation. Junior Varsity medals will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The medals and trophies presentation will take place after the heavyweight finals.
SEATING
Each school will be given an assigned area to sit. Please stay in your assigned area.
LOCKER ROOMS
Boys’ Locker Room: Center, Glendale (Springfield), Liberty North, Ray-Pec, Ruskin, St. Joseph Lafayette,and Truman
Girls’ Locker Room:Central Academy, Grandview, Hickman, Raytown South, Rockhurst, Sedalia Smith Cotton, St. John Vianney, and Van Horn
LOCKER ROOM SECURITY
Locker rooms will be open to traffic at all times. Each wrestler and each team is responsible for their own belongings. Lockers are available but you must bring your own locks.
TOWELS
Towels will not be furnished.
FLOOR CONTROL
Chairs for two coaches will be available on each side of each mat. All persons other than coaches, including cheerleaders, must stay outside the wide blue basketball court side-lines.
ROSTERS AND PASS LIST
Each school needs complete the roster/pass listbelow and send to by Monday, December 7th.The roster must include the wrestler’s name, year in school, weight class, record and check if they are wrestling varsity or JV. Any changes can be made at the seeding meeting.
CRASH ROOM
Due to the large number of teams,the wrestlers will be provided a crash area in the hallway leading to the cafeteria. This will help keep the stands as clear as possible for spectators.
CLEAN-UP
We will provide trash cans. Please insist that your wrestlers use them and help keep the area clean.
FOOD IN GYM
Wrestlers who plan to eat after weigh-ins should eat in the concession or crash area. Please discourage food and drinks in the gym.
CONCESSION STAND
There will a concession stand available.
HOSPITALITY ROOM
There will be a hospitality room directly across the hall from the main gym in our orchestra room. In order to allow us to serve all of the coaches, workers, officials and bus drivers, please help us by encouraging those that are not authorized to be there to use the concession stand.
PARKING
On Friday, our school is released at2:15 pm. Please plan to arrive at 2:30 pm or after to allow the building and parking lot to clear.If busses are staying,they must park in the lot south of the baseball field just off 35th Street or the lot in between the Wal-Mart and the Gaslight apartments.
ACT TEST
The ACT test is also being given Saturday, December 12th, at Truman HS. The buses need to drop off the wrestlers at the south Gym doors or east Gym doors. Both have signs over the top of the doors. Again, please have the busses park in lots specified above. The building will also be gated off for the ACT and doors will be posted to help assure the sanctity of the test. Please have wrestlers stay in gym areas during the meet.
*Coaches: Inform your wrestlers concerning the problems with the ACT test. Because of the weigh-in change, taking the test may cause them to be disqualified from the tournament if they are not able to wrestle or weigh-in at their appointed time.
(NO SPECIAL PROVISIONS CAN BE MADE FOR THE ACT TEST THIS YEAR).
