TERMS OF REFERENCE

Position Title: Driver - Rattan Project

Reports to: Rattan Project Manager/ Admin Officer

Supervises: N/A

Location: Phnom Penh

Major Functions: This is a responsible non-supervisory position. Duties include operating and maintaining transportation vehicles with a focus on safety and customer courtesy; performing daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; performing minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary; fuelling and cleaning the vehicles; ensuring that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported; documenting staff usage; preparing trip reports; preparing accident and incident reports as necessary; providing safety briefing to customers; and providing other services as requested by management when not engaged in transportation service. Also recording and checking vehicle log books.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Transportation throughout the Rattan project area and other place required by WWF Management and project staff.

2.  Operates assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner;

3.  Maintains defensive driving;

4.  Reads and interprets maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient, safest and least hazardous route for staff and guests;

5.  Presents safety briefing to passengers prior to each trip departure;

6.  Keeps the assigned vehicle(s) clean inside and outside;

7.  Maintains accurate, up-to-date records in log book, on transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management;

8.  Performs minor maintenance tasks on assigned vehicle(s) as required;

9.  Fuels the assigned vehicle(s);

10.  Coordinates the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff to minimize service interruptions;

11.  Responds immediately to accident or medical emergencies by notifying management and medical services providers, and rendering First Aid until emergency personnel arrive;

12.  Provides staff and guests with prompt service;

13.  Drives carefully and considerately at all times;

Other Important Duties

14.  Performs such other duties as may be required;

15.  Might be required to overnight in the field as part of duties

Working Relationships:

Internal: Senior Management, Technical Advisors and Staff who travel.

External: Senior staff in the MOE and FA, Donors and other visitors to the project.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle safely and appropriately, including ability to read and interpret road signs; ability to read, understand, and adhere to the rules and regulations of the road and traffic safety laws in Cambodia; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to establish effective professional relationships with co-workers, and upper level staff and employees; ability to prepare concise and accurate records and reports; extensive knowledge of the operations and features of assigned vehicle(s); ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs; ability to perform minor vehicle repairs; skilled in reasoning skills to interpret policies and procedures, maps, and route directions; and ability to administer First Aid.

1. Knowledge

o  Minimum High school degree

o  Must be a minimum of 21 years of age, and possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

2. Experience:

o  Minimum 2 years experience on driving vehicle with NGOs

2.  Skills and Abilities:

o  Speaking in English

o  Willingness to travel to remote locations, and work in two-three provinces
