Intro to Human Studies and Lifespan Development

-Upon entering, take out your textbook and supplies out of your individual class trays and sit in your assigned seat. Students may not leave their seats without permission.
-Once seated, read the daily objective on the board and complete the bell work.
-No food or drinks (exceptduring food labs) are allowed during class. Water and coffee are permitted.
-Profanity or other obscene language is prohibited.
-Students may not touch any classroom equipment or enter kitchen labs without permission. Separate lab rules will be distributed before entering the lab.
-Lab fees are required unless student is on the Free/Reduced Lunch list. If lab fees are not paid, student will be listed on the “Debt/Hold” list at the end of the semester.
-Food allergies must be stated in writing and signed by a parent.
-All assignments must be turned in before or on the due date. If you are absent on the due date, you are expected to turn in the assignment upon the day you return or you will receive a late grade. Quizzes/tests will also be made up on the day you return.
-All late assignments will receive a 10 point deduction for each day it is late. After 3 days, the student will receive a zero for the assignment.
-If you are absent, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to find out the class assignments missed upon the “Make Up” table. For consecutive days absent, please have someone to come pick up the assignments to complete. Upon return, you will have 3 days to make up each assignment missed or a zero grade will be distributed.
-Students will not be permitted to leave class for any reason. Please visit lockers and use the restroom before class begins to prevent disruption of teaching, unless it is an emergency.
-Students may receive a 5-10 point deduction on their Participation Grade for any misbehavior for each offense such as sleeping, putting their head down, excessive talking, or profanity.
-Cheating and copying answers is prohibited and will result in a zero grade without a “warning” issued. Make-ups will not be permitted.
-Cell phone use, other electronic device usage, ear phones, and food/drinks will be issued with a warning and then confiscated if not put away. Please do not attempt to contact your child on their cell phone during instructional time. For emergencies, students may use the office phone and parents may contact the school main office.
Consequences = 1. verbal warning 2. student/teacher conference & parent contacted 3. disciplinary referral issued
Rewards =(For consecutive Excellent behavior, grade averages, etc.) Ranging from dropping the lowest classwork assignment grade to receiving candy, or bonus points!
