Dear Friends, November 2010

As we approach another year’s end, we are quickly reminded of our awesome God’s kind and abundant faithfulness working through your generous prayers and financial gifts that bless so many people.

Your continued, generous support of this ministry has helped provide over $24,000 worth of counseling to hurting individuals and to group communities since January. We have faced incredibly hard, and at times seemingly impossible situations with clients who need God’s wisdom and truth through loving care and a listening ear. Every person needs to be encouraged by the realization that someone is delighted to know them and walk with them amidst their struggles. We are thrilled to be part of that crucial inspiration in the lives of those who come for help.

Financially, the total ministry income from donors and client fees through October was just under $27,000. We are here today because folks like you care about what we are doing to support individuals, marriage and the family unit. Words alone will never be enough for us to express how much we appreciate you and all you mean to the ongoing ministry of Anchor of Hope. Your continued prayer support has carried us like Eagle’s wings as we seek and trust in Father God to meet the needs of His people through us.

Anchor of Hope’s ongoing groups are focused on emotional healing, personal maturity and the concept of community belonging. The men’s group is growing in grace, the couple’s group is developing communication skills and the teen girls group is learning life skills. Each semester, people that are eager for community, quickly fill each group. We believe that everyone needs grace and love and these are expressly found in ongoing, emotionally healthy, and relationally connected communities where we can safely fail as we learn to live.

Jim Wilder writes, “Growth, repair, maturity, and faith development are all intimately tied to relationships. People do need people to achieve wholeness in a fractured world.” The fact that we are a part of the (singular) “Body of Christ” is evidence enough that our relational connection is to Jesus and ‘every part’ of His glorious being. Our prayer for you is that God brings the spiritual family members into your life that will support His eternal plans and purposes, so that “each part does it’s own special work, helping the other parts grow, until the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” (Eph. 4:16) May you grow in God today!

In God’s Gracious Peace,

“Serving by Caring”

“Too often I looked at being relevant, popular and powerful as ingredients of an effective ministry. The truth, however is that these are not vocations but temptations." (Henri Nouwen)
