Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome back to Steuart Hill Academic Academy (SHAA)! The summer has been awesome! Our community partners YALA operated our summer enrichment program with positive results. They will return this year to continue their good work connecting our school community with all the academic and social function of the school. Collaborating with teachers we will institute two new reading intervention programsLearning A to Z and Acheive3000 which we believe will strengthen students’ skills and increase their probability of success on the PARCC.
The first student day is August 31, 2015 the doors open for students at 7:25 AM. Your child should meet their teacher outside on the blacktop near the large playground. Eachteacher will have a sign with his or her name and homeroom number.We will be looking forward to seeing all of our STAR students in their SHAA uniforms.
We increased the number of parent volunteers last year and I thank those parents who were volunteer’s. We would like to continue that trend by having more parents actively involved this year. Please contact Mrs. Riley, Community Resource Coordinator at 410-396-1387 if you are interest in volunteering.

Teachers will explain briefly the content of eachsubjectarea and will tell you their requirements and expectationsofallstudents. I encouragedyou to ask questions at the end of each session.
