Capital and Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) is seeking a Cardiac Rhythm Management Fellow for an exciting role with the Cardiology Department of Wellington regional Hospital. This position starts February 2014 for a 12 month fixed term.

The successful applicant would be involved in the care of patients with pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT, and will be instructed in all aspects of device implantation, interrogation and trouble-shooting. CCDHB does not perform radiofrequency ablation therapy. There is an on-call requirement, the scope of which will depend on the experience of the appointee.

Wellington Hospital is a major teaching hospital and provides specialist tertiary level care to the central North Island comprising a population of 1 million people. We have moved into our new state of the art regional facility. This new hospital facility includes a dedicated Electrophysiology procedure suite and two cardiac catheter laboratories, a day procedure ward and a 36 bed combined cardiac speciality ward incorporating a CCU and Cardiothoracic high dependency unit.

Candidates must have the FRACP or equivalent college fellowship qualification (e.g. MRCP). The position would suit a senior registrar wishing to expand and gain valuable experience in the field of cardiac rhythm management and device implantation.
