A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Officer Douglas Bryant.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Officer Douglas Bryant, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.
WHEREAS, Doug Bryant was born on October 5, 1940, a native of Eubank, Pulaski County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on May 19, 2003, when he was killed in the line of duty while in pursuit of a vehicle on Interstate 75 in Kenton County; and
WHEREAS, Doug Bryant was the loving son of the late Lonnie and Ollie Bryant; he was the devoted husband of Sherry Bryant; and he was the caring father of one daughter, Kiana Bryant; and
WHEREAS, Officer Bryant had a 21 year career in law enforcement; he began his law enforcement career with the Bromley Police Department in 1978; in 1989, he was hired by the Division of Water Patrol which became part of the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources in 1996; and
WHEREAS, Officer Bryant was a well respected and recognized expert in boating accident reconstruction, and he investigated every major boating accident in the Northern Kentucky area since 1989; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Officer Doug Bryant has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth by the hunters, anglers, boaters, and citizens of the Commonwealth that he swore to protect;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Officer Douglas Bryant and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Officer Douglas Bryant.
Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Sherry Bryant, 1719 Highwater Road, Villa Hills, Kentucky 41017.
