Theme: “Putting the ‘Occupation’ Back in Occupational Therapy”

What: Presentations should be in the area of occupational therapy practice, education, or program development and should reaffirm a commitment to occupation-based practice in evaluation, intervention, and outcomes identification. The learning objectives should be clearly stated, and should relate to improved understanding or application of knowledge relevant to practice and education. The plan of presentation and the synopsis of the content should indicate how the learning objectives will be fulfilled.

Type of Session:

· Advanced-Practice Workshop (Intermediate and Advanced-level content only): 3-hour session with reflective period for attendees with comprehensive understanding of subject matter. · Short Course: 90-minute session with reflective period for attendees. · Tech Day Session: 90-minute session. Tech Day sessions are a hands-on interactive exploration of high- and low-technology products to enhance client participation in occupations across the lifespan. · Research Platform: Research platforms will be created by AOTA from the research papers submitted. Each presenter will have 15-minutes for presentation with facilitated discussion. Details about the research platform will be provided in the notification should your submission be accepted. · Poster: Displayed on a 4-ft x 8-ft cork bulletin board. Posters will be on display during a designated 2-hour time period. Presenters are required to be with their poster for the entire 2- hour session. ·

Presenters should have a working knowledge of the equipment used in presenting. Technical support may not be available for your presentation. A computer and LCD projector with PowerPoint will be provided in each conference room. If using the computer as part of the presentation, you are encouraged to bring the presentation on a USB drive storage device, as the conference computers will not have a CD or zip drive. If you do not have a USB storage device, you will need to arrive to the registration table at least 60 minutes before your presentation so that the presentation can be transferred to a USB device and tested for readiness. We are also unable to switch out conference room computers with personal laptops unless you receive permission from the Vice President. This is to decrease the time needed for setting up and vacating the conference rooms between presentations, and to decrease problems associated with switching equipment. No other equipment will be provided; should you need an overhead projector, slide projector, flip chart, or other items including poster presentation boards, you will need to provide it yourself. There may be a charge to the speaker for internet connections for needed for presentations. Room assignments and poster space assignment locations may not be moved without consent of the Vice President.

• Introductory level is geared to practitioners with little or no knowledge of the subject matter. Focus is on providing general introductory information. • Intermediate level is geared to practitioners with a general working knowledge of current practice trends and literature related to the subject matter. Focus is on increasing knowledge and competent application of the subject matter. • Advanced level is geared to practitioners with a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter based on current theories and standards of practice as well as current literature and research. Focus is on recent advances and trends, and/or research applications. It is expected that a high level of participation by attendees is encouraged during this session.

You will be notified by August 16, 2017 of our acceptance or rejection of your proposal by email. A valid email address must be listed in the first section of this application.

Please be informed, you must be able to fill the entire time that you submit your paper for with material, discussion, and questions. Participants are given continuing education credit for the amount of time submitted on your call for papers, and scheduling is based on your presentation time.

All poster submissions require that the author of the poster accompany his/her poster during the poster session.
