THE INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OF NIGERIA
NOMINATIONS FOR THE INSTITUTE'S ANNUAL "MERIT AWARDS”
Members of the Institute are invited to submit their nominations for the Year 2010 Merit Awards to the ICAN MERIT AWARDS Sub - Committee.Members are reminded that nominations should be in recognition of Outstanding Contributions by members and non-members. Guidelines for the awards are as follows:
A.ELIGIBILITY
(i)Members (Gold Medal)
(a)Nominees must be members of the Institute in any of the following sectors:
Practice, Organised Private Sector, Public Sector, Politics and Education:
(b)They must have rendered outstanding service or carried out a project which is seen to be an "Outstanding Contribution to the Institute" whether complete or still in progress
(c)They must have rendered an "outstanding service" by virtue of a continuing influence though of more general nature, which has had a great effect, nationally.
(ii)Non-Members Plaque
Nominees must be non-members who have made outstanding contributions to the nation, by virtue of a continuing influence, though of a more general nature, which has had a great effect, nationally.
(iii)Corporate Awards Plaque
Nominees must be corporate bodies, educational institutions or organisations seen to have shown preference for ICAN members, the Institute or have contributed to the development of the economy of the nation.

Each nomination should be in the form of a citation, describing the achievements in not more than 200 words. The nominee's candidature must be supported by two members of the Institute.
The attached forms are to be used for the nominations.
SELECTION
The ICAN Awards Sub-Committee will consider the nominations and report its decision to Council through the main Committee.
