Proposal Description: Providea 5-10 page (double-spaced) description of the proposed meeting, explaining its purpose, the significance of the topic, and its potential for producing innovative scholarship.Provide also a rough plan (subject to revision) for each day of the meeting.

Participants: Providea one–page list of the participants, annotated to include a brief discussion of the special expertise or perspective each one would bring to the seminar. Indicate if they have already been asked to participate.

Budget: Please provide a budget estimate for the proposed meeting. PIIRSprovides a maximum contribution of $18,000. If additional funding is being solicited from other sources, please indicate those sources. In detailing the costs of the meeting, please use the estimates below for permissible expenses:

  • Hotel Accommodations: $180/night. At the Nassau Inn, this fee includes room, taxes, WIFI, local calls, and breakfast in the Tap Room. Add $20/day for parking, if applicable. Other area hotels have comparable rates. For a two-day meeting, budget for three-nights lodging to accommodate international and out-of-state- participants.
  • Airfare: Use Concur (Princeton Travel and Expense)or other online resources (Travelocity, Expedia, etc.) to estimate costs for the lowest coach-class fare. Add $40 to each estimate to cover booking fees. Business-class fares are not covered by the PIIRS Conference Fund.
  • Ground Transportation: $260 RT between EWR and the Nassau Inn; $400 RT between JFK and the Nassau Inn
  • Food, person/day: $15 continental breakfast; $20 lunch; $12 break refreshments; $70 dinner.
  • Publicity (only for conferences open to the public): 25 posters, including design about $350 with reasonable edits; $350 for two days of ads in the Daily Princetonian. Publicity images provided by conference directors must be royalty-free.
  • Miscellaneous expenses: up to $300
