b - Season Long Individual Match Play

Flight winners automatically qualify for 2017 Dam Cup

Event Format and Rules:

1.

Entry fee - $25

2.

Entry deadline is Sunday April 23th. Flights and brackets will be drawn after entries close and posted online

on the BHMGC homepage.

3.

Flights - Players may elect to play in the Scratch flight or handicapped flights. Scratch flight will play from

the blue tees. Handicap flights will play from the white tees. Players, who signed up to play from the gold

tees for the season, will play from the same tees as their competitor and handicaps adjusted.

Handicap flights will be established based on handicap at the time of entry. Every entrant must have an

established USGA handicap.

Format is individual Match Play. Scratch Flight will play their matches without handicaps. The Handicapped

Flights will play their matches using each player’s course handicap at the time that each round pairings

are set. After determining current handicaps, the player with the lowest handicap will play at zero and

other player will receive strokes based on the difference between their respective handicaps. Strokes are

allocated equally between the two nines, with any odd numbered stokes applied to the more difficult

course. When opposing players compete from different tees, the pro shop shall determine the equitable

stroke adjustment.

Any player(s) receiving round 1 byes(in unfilled divisions) must win one match in order to be eligible for

prize money.

Scheduling Matches - It is YOUR responsibility as a player in this event to schedule your match. DO NOT

wait for your opponent to contact you. Contact your opponent as soon as pairings are assigned.

8.

Deadlines for each round will be posted on the tournament pairings board and the event schedule on the BHMC

website. Matches must be played prior to the deadline for that round. Players who fail to schedule a match or

make other arrangements prior to the posted deadline are subject to be disqualified. In the event both players

fail to schedule a match before the deadline, the tournament chairman shall have the right to determine the

match by a coin flip. Pro-shop will set aside tee times for un-played matches on the final day(s) for each round.

MATCH PLAY DEADLINE:

  • Round 1 - May 28

  • Round 2 - June 25

  • Round 3 - July 23

  • Round 4 - August 13

9.

Ties – in the event a match ends up “all square” after 18 holes of play, a sudden death playoff should be

arranged with the pro-shop. Should a sudden death playoff not be possible (due to darkness, weather or course

business) another form of tie-breaker may be substituted if both players agree (chip off etc.)

10. Posting Results – It is the responsibility of the winning player to post the results on the tournament board in

the golf’s lounge as well as contacting the tournament chairman.
