D.12. Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
Since our International Relations Graduate Program is a popular one, candidates from numerous fields, including the students of our department, apply for it. Our department dedicated itself to meet these demands since it values interdisciplinary studies. However, it does not either negatively or positively discriminate to that end. It is a challenging task to have the occupational profiles, because a great number of our students who come to our department already have careers. Still, it is possible to give the profile of the incoming students. Accordingly, they come mainly from state institutions, primarily from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of the EU, Ministry of Interior, Prime Ministry, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Development, Ministry of Customs and Trade and TIKA; from international organizations and their sub-divisions, such as the UN, UNICEF and UNHCR. They also include members of the Turkish military, lawyers, engineers, members of the Security Department, linguists and litterateurs.
Our graduates continue their education in PhD programs of the prominent universities in Turkey and abroad by obtaining various scholarships. The number of our graduates who dedicated themselves to an academic career is growing.
