VACANCY –QUALITY TECHNICIAN

PURPOSE OF JOB
To assist the Assembly Surface Treatment Plant Foreman (Groenkoof) in respect of the daily activities with regard to quality control and planning of the shop floor activities. Incumbent will also be responsible for all PPPM tasks in the Surface Treatment Plant.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
  • Performing of general inspections on incoming products.
  • Up keeping of inspection checklists for incoming products.
  • Verification of received/shipped product quantities.
  • Assist with the final inspection of product and release thereof to internal/external clients.
  • Provide support in respect of:
  • ISO 9001/ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 related requirements
  • Handling of the quarantine system
  • Concessions / deviations
  • Calibration of equipment
  • Feedback on quality related issues/problems
  • Communication with customers
  • Process flow against schedule / priorities
  • Internal audits
  • Perform all PPPM related tasks in respect of:
  • Preparation
  • Preservation
  • Packaging
  • Marking
  • Responsible for the housekeeping of the following areas:
  • Receiving area
  • Shipping area (PPPM)
  • Provide physical assistance to the Plant Foreman during peak periods in respect of surface treatment requirements.
  • Adhere to the company SHE Policies and Procedures.

CRITICAL SKILLS
  • Good communicator
  • Previous experience in a Stores and Quality assurance environment
  • Ms Office (Advantage)
  • Qmuzik (Advantage)

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willing to perform physical work in respect of surface treatment during peak periods.
  • Must be physically able to perform the major responsibilities of PPPM and Surface treatment.
