POST: Hr Advisor

SERVICE AREA: Organisational Development

JOB PURPOSE: To act as the primary contact for all staff and Managers. Providing support and guidance on a range of HR matters, supporting the HR Business Partners on strategic priorities

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

OD Service Delivery

1.  To take responsibility for projects as allocated by the Head of HR and Business Partners

2.  To contribute to the overall development of the department, aiming to provide excellent customer service. Promoting a ‘one team approach’ with Payroll and HR colleagues

3.  In conjunction with other team members, continually develop and maintain the HR System

4.  To work with the other team members to ensure all duties within the department are covered during peaks and troughs of workload and holiday and sickness cover.

Employee Relations

1.  Primary contact for Managers across the full range of HR issues, responsible for providing advice, guidance and practical support across the different business areas

2.  Work with HR Business Partners on key business projects such as restructure, TUPE transfers and change management

3.  To provide support and advice to managers regarding staffing issues, including sickness absence, discipline, grievance and capability.

4.  Manage sickness absence cases within the different business areas and liaise with Occupational Health as required

5.  To prepare, develop, monitor and review human resource policies and procedures, ensuring they adhere to changing legislation and best practice. Issuing guidance for Managers and employees, to ensure proper implementation.

6.  In conjunction with the Business Partners collate, produce and provide managers with meaningful KPI data for their service

7.  Support Managers in Disciplinary and Grievance hearings and other case work. Guiding and advising the Manager through the process, the hearing, taking appropriate notes when required and confirming the outcome.

8.  Preparing the compilation of bundles of documents for complex ER cases and Employment tribunal cases ensuring the upmost professionalism and discretion is maintained

9.  Where possible ensure our legal partners are informed of all ER cases that may lead to dismissal/grievance and legal guidance is followed where appropriate

Employee Engagement

1.  Work closely with all business areas to ensure that practices policies are aligned and embedded to enhance employee engagement and ultimately improve performance.

2.  Pro-actively work in conjunction with Learning and Development colleagues a to identify training needs and career development opportunities for employees

3.  Ensure staff and managers are fully utilising the automated facilities of the HR System.

4.  Manage and oversee all the company’s family friendly processes and provide advice and guidance to staff and managers in line with statutory legislation and internal procedures

Recruitment, Selection and onbaording

1.  Provide first line guidance on effective recruitment processes

2.  Responsible for sourcing appropriate value for money advertising solutions

3.  Responsible for updating and maintaining the HR section of QUIP (internal intranet)

4.  Oversee the employee induction process ensuring all processes are followed and employees are given a positive on boarding experience

5.  To represent Calico at external careers/promotional events to promote employment opportunities and services within the company

1.  Keep up-to-date with external developments which may impact strategy and maintain a detailed knowledge of HR issues through appropriate reading, seminars, networking events and practical experience
