Impact Evaluation

The pupil premium made considerable impact with many children on track for upper quartile progress, which can be described as outstanding progress. The strengths of this response in the development of bespoke provision that has been facilitated by the pupil premium. In the case of child number 4, the child spent a greater amount of time in the nurture provision to help overcome the social, emotional and mental health barriers to learning. As a result of this time I would expect an increase in rates of progress in maths and English over the coming years.

There has been an equal development in the progress of young people at secondary, and this has come as a result of following the principles from primary from the previous year. The combination of quality intervention on a curriculum basis, plus intervention from a range of services such as OT, SALT and the Ed. Pysch has supported in overcoming individual barriers to learning.

The effectiveness of this strategy has now provided the school with a need to further develop strategies in meeting the needs of young people with Specific Learning Differences. Where learning has slowed there is a greater evidence of dyslexia as being the reason for this development.

For next year part of the pupil premium will be spent on enhancing the school response to SpLD.
