1st District: 7/23/12 to 7/31/12

A1 Beat:

·  A carjacking occurred at Indigo Drive and Ferrara Drive, Wheaton- Glenmont on Monday 7/30 around 2:02 a.m.

Suspect: H/M, 20-25 yrs. old, 5’5”-5’6”/140-145 lbs.

Suspect: B/M, 17-20 yrs. old, 6’-6’2”/160-165 lbs.

·  An aggravated assault occurred in the 5500 block of Randolph Road, North Bethesda on Tuesday 7/31 at 12:24 a.m.

Arrested: Male, 23 years old, from Hyattsville

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 12600 block of Veirs Mill Road, Rockville on Thursday 7/26 between 4:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Forced entry, property taken.

·  A residential burglary was reported in the 4300 block of Star Lane, Rockville on Monday 7/30 at 11:43 a.m. No further information available at this time.

A2 Beat:

·  Four thefts from vehicles occurred in this beat this week. Three of the thefts from vehicles were from unlocked vehicles and the fourth mode of entry is unknown. Small loose items in the vehicles were taken.

A3 Beat:

·  An armed robbery occurred at East Montgomery Avenue and Monroe Street, Rockville on Thursday 7/26 at 2:30 p.m. Property taken.

Suspect: B/M, 15-17 yrs. old, 5’9”-5’10”/120-140 lbs.

A4 Beat:

·  There were twelve thefts from vehicles overnight between Sunday 7/29 and Monday 7/30. All of the vehicles were unlocked. Cash and loose change were the main targets; a camera was also taken.

B1 Beat:

·  A commercial burglary occurred at the garage under construction at the Twinbrook Metro, 1600 Chapman Avenue, Rockville between 11:30 p.m. Tuesday 7/24 and 12:05 a.m. Wednesday 7/25. Property taken.

B2 Beat:

·  A theft from vehicle occurred in the 7800 block of Coddle Harbor Lane, Rockville on Tuesday 7/24 between 3:30 and 3:59 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

B3 Beat:

·  Three thefts from vehicles occurred in this Potomac beat. DVDs and cash were taken.

B4 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 10500 block of Prairie Landing Terrace, North Potomac on Tuesday 7/31 between 8:40 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

·  Nine thefts from vehicles occurred in the beat this week.

D1 Beat:

·  A commercial burglary occurred at an office building located at 2 Wisconsin Circle, Chevy Chase on Friday 7/27 at approximately 10:30 a.m.

·  Three thefts from vehicles occurred this week in this beat.

D2 Beat:

·  No significant activity to report.

D3 Beat:

·  An armed robbery occurred at Summit Avenue and Warner Street, Kensington on Friday 7/27 at approximately 9:00 p.m. Property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 4300 block of Ambler Drive, Kensington on Friday 7/27 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A theft from vehicle occurred in the 9700 block of Old Spring Road, Kensington on Tuesday 7/24 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Unknown entry, cash taken.

E1 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 4500 block of Dorset Avenue, Chevy Chase sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Forced entry; unknown what was taken.

·  Six thefts from vehicles occurred in this beat during this reporting period. All but one occurred during the overnight hours, with three occurring during the early morning hours on Monday 7/23. Entry methods varied and loose items left inside vehicles were taken, to include iPhones, iPads, and cash.

E2 Beat:

·  No significant activity to report.

E3 Beat:

·  An incident of graffiti vandalism occurred in the 9900 block of Inglemere Drive, Bethesda sometime between Thursday 7/26 and Friday 7/27.

E4 Beat:

·  A strong-arm robbery occurred at Strathmore Avenue and Weymouth Street, Kensington on Sunday 7/29 at approximately 1:30 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and removed property.

Suspect: B/M, possibly teenaged, 150-160 lbs.

Suspect: B/M, possibly teenaged, 130-140 lbs.

·  An attempted vehicle theft occurred in the 10600 block of Montrose Road, Rockville on Monday 7/23 at approximately 2:30 a.m.

·  An armed robbery occurred at the Greyhound Station, 8100 Fenton Street, Silver Spring on Friday 7/27 at 7:15 p.m.

Suspects: (2) B/M’s 20-25

·  No significant activity reported

H1 Beat:

·  An armed robbery occurred in the area of University Boulevard E and E Melbourne Avenue, Silver Spring on Saturday 7/28 at 2:15 a.m. Property taken.

Suspect: H/M 16-20 years, 5’4” to 5’6”

Suspect: B/M 16-20 years 5’4” to 5’7”

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 8800 block of Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring on Friday 7/27 at 4:03 p.m. No further information.

H2 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 9700 block of Mt Pisgah Road, Silver Spring. Unknown entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 1200 block of Caddington Avenue, Silver Spring between 7:00 a.m. Tuesday 7/24 and 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday 7/25. Forced entry; property taken.

I1 Beat:

·  An aggravated assault occurred at the Post Office located at 13217 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring on Thursday 7/26 at 2:00 p.m. A press release was issued for this incident.

Arrested: Male age 67, from Silver Spring

·  An aggravated assault occurred in the 11400 block of Lockwood Dr, Silver Spring on Wednesday 7/25 at 6:56 p.m. The suspect and victim are known to each other.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 13100 block of New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring on Monday 7/23 between 12:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Forced entry; no property taken.

·  A sex assault occurred in the 12100 block of Plum Orchard Drive, Calverton on Wednesday 7/25 at 11:00 a.m.

Arrested: Male, age 54 from Rockville

I2 Beat:

·  A robbery occurred in the parking lot of the McDonalds located at 13814 Outlet Drive, Silver Spring on Tuesday 7/31 at 9:39 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspects: (3) B/M’s 18-19 5’6” to 6”

·  An attempted armed robbery occurred in the area of Ballinger Drive and Carthage Circle, Fairland on Friday 7/27 at 11:57 a.m.

Suspects: (3) B/M’s 6”135 lbs

·  An armed robbery occurred in the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard, Silver Spring on Thursday 7/26 at 11:21 p.m. The suspects displayed a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: (2) B/M’s 17-18 years of age, 5’3” one described a bald, armed with a handgun. Second suspect described as having dreadlocks.

·  An aggravated assault occurred in the 13900 block of Castle Boulevard, Silver Spring on Friday 7/27 at 3:57 p.m. The suspect and victim were known to each other.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 14100 block of Castle Boulevard, Silver Spring on Thursday 7/26 between noon and 7:00 p.m. No forced entry; property taken.

·  An aggravated assault occurred at Intipiqueno, 2504 Ennalls Avenue, Silver Spring on Sunday 7/29 at 7:49 p.m.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 2700 block of Avena Street, Silver Spring on Tuesday 7/31 at 9:17 p.m. Forced entry; no property taken.

·  An aggravated assault occurred in a wooded area of Germantown Road and Shakespeare Drive, Germantown on Monday, 7/23 at 1:45 a.m.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 12000 block of Amber Ridge Circle, Germantown overnight between Tuesday, 7/17 and Wednesday, 7/18. Forced entry; property taken.

·  There were three thefts from vehicles overnight between Sunday, 7/29 and Monday, 7/30 on Twinflower Circle, Germantown. In all events entry was made via an unlocked door. Loose items left inside, such as sunglasses and change, were targeted.
