Phil Mason introduced himself and invited members to share any news and forthcoming events. Code of conduct for forum summarised and PM reminded people to fill in demographic / feedback forms before leaving the meeting.

COMCO update – Liz Fisher, Training Centre Development Manager, COMCO
Presentation on the training centre at COMCO, this included case studies which demonstrated success stories.
They are always looking for volunteers, including volunteers with knowledge in subjects like woodwork. Comco also manage Bolton Shop mobility – Scooters are maintained and repaired by learners at the centre. They also manage a range of support services for people who have disabilities/learning disabilities, including social and nursing support services.

Funding Update:
Greggs Foundation's Local Community Projects Fund
The Local Community Projects Fund helps not-for-profit organisations based in local communities to deliver projects or provide equipment to people in need at the heart of local communities. Preference is likely to be given to local organisations based near a Greggs shop.
Grants of up to £2,000 are available for projects. There are two funding rounds per year. The deadline for round two applications is 24 June 2017.

Grant amount: Between £50 and £1000. Applications that can show match funding are encouraged.

True Colours Trust
Aims/priorities: Trustees of the Trust are committed to supporting a large number of excellent local organisations and projects that support disabled children and their families on a daily basis.
The Trust has a small grants programme, open to application at any time, which provides grants of up to £10,000, usually for one-off purposes, to help smaller organisations develop and deliver programmes for children, their siblings and families.
Deadline: Applications can be submitted at any time.

Morrison’s Foundation
Aims are for new projects that groups would like to get off the ground but for which they have no funding.
The projects should benefit the local community and can cover a wide range of areas
Who can apply: Both local and national UK registered charities.
Grant amount: There is no minimum or maximum grant level. Funding is at the discretion of the Foundation. Previous grants have ranged from £750 to £20,000.
Application process: Application forms available to complete online at the Foundation's website.

Bolton CVS Breaks for Carers Grants
Aims/priorities:This grant scheme is funded by Bolton Council's Children's and Adult Community Services Department to allow adult carers of other adultsto have a short break; for example, a theatre trip, pampering sessions or a meal out. Break activities should help carers in one or more of the following ways.
Carers will recharge their batteries and feel more able to cope with the demands of caring
Carers are able meet up with other carers reducing the risk of social isolation from being stuck at home due to their caring responsibilities.
Carers will benefit from a change of routine and go to places at no or low cost that they otherwise may not.
Who can apply:constituted groups, self-help and voluntary groups benefitting residents of the Bolton borough.
Grant amount: Up to £1000
Deadline: Monday 3rd April. Another in summer 2017.

Phil Mason: Vision steering group update: met on the 28th March, looking at the launch of Vision 2030. On the 5th April to take ideas forward 1) communications 2) civic pride 3) events 4) Building Community capacity.
In light of recent events in Westminster Phil Mason reported that there was no suggestion that hate crime had gone up which was encouraging. / Actions:
