Operations Squadron Commander:

The job of the Operation Squadron Commander is to lead and direct the Logistics, Admin, and Personnel programs to their jobs done successfully and efficiently. The Operations Squadron Commander is to ensure that all subordinates are capable and competent in their position and are able to : tech and manage representatives as well as issue uniform items pertaining to their position. The Commander of this Squadron must be willing and able to watch over and help those under them whenever necessary. Logistics, Admin, and Produce a sense of serenity, organization, and direction to those in the Squadron.

Standards for the Operations Squadron Commander

Chapter One - Basics of your squadron

1.1 - Mission of Operations Squadron

1.1.1–The mission of Operations Squadron is to make the core look its best through uniform wear whether it is at drill meets or walking around the school.

1.1.2– It is also the mission of Operations Squadron is to provide an organized way to distribute uniform items, ribbons, and rank to the cadets of the core in an orderly fashion.

1.1.3– Also to allow award ceremonies throughout the year to run smoothly and to help make sure cadets get correct awards for all events.

1.1.4– To ensure that ribbon and rank orders are published.

1.1.5– Ensure that Logistics properly manages and keeps track of all uniform items going into and leaving storage.

1.2- The responsibilities of a Squadron Commander

1.2.1– The responsibilities of an Operations Squadron Commander include making sure that all tasks within the squadron are done correctly and time efficiently.

1.2.2– Operations Squadron is constantly evolving and changing, so job commanders will always be looking to the Operation Squadron Commander for answers to new issues. It is the job of the Operation Squadron Commander to provide focus and direction to the commander despite these issues.

1.3- The Jobs that Fall Under Operations Squadron

1.3.1– Logistics: Provides uniforms to all cadets in the unit, makes sure supply of uniform items is always kept neat and in order. Uniforms create the image of our unit.

1.3.2– Admin: Ensures that all cadets receive the correct ribbons. Works in conjunction with Personnel to organize award ceremonies.

1.3.3– Personnel: ensures that all cadets receive the proper rank. Works in conjunction with Admin to organize award ceremonies.

Chapter Two –Logistics

2.1– Mission of Logistics

2.1.1–Logistics mission is to make sure every and all cadets are given the correct uniform items and that they look sharp so the unit as a whole is presented well. Logistics is also required to manage and keep track of all uniforms going into and leaving Logistics.

2.2– Importance of Uniforms

2.2.1– Uniform wear represents Wando High School and the military in general. So as the cadets who distribute uniforms, Logistics Commanders and Representatives must make sure all uniforms look sharp and fit to the correct regulations.

2.3– Training New Representatives

2.3.1– When training new reps make sure to go over all supply check lists as far as fitting, returning uniform items, alterations, inventory, etc.

2.3.2– Make sure cadets are competent and learn how to use the tracking system.

2.3.3– Make sure everything that the new trainees are learning you (as the squadron commander) know how to do and teach efficiently.

Chapter Three -Admin and Personnel

3.1- Mission of Admin and Personnel

3.1.1– The mission is to make sure all cadets are awarded the proper ribbons and rank for their achievements while being a part of Wando’s JROTC

3.1.2 –Another large portion of Admin and Personnel is to make sure award ceremonies run smoothly and all cadets are given correct ribbons and certificates.

3.2- What Ribbons and Ranks and Importance

3.2.1 – Ribbons award cadets for all their hard work in the many activities the unit offers. They represent the achievements each individual cadet makes.

3.2.2 – Ranks separate the officers from the enlisted underclassman. They create authority and are earned with the effort that each cadet has put into the core.

3.3- What to Check for in Admin and Personnel

3.3.1 –Make sure master lists are always in order and completed to the most up to date version.

3.3.2– Make sure binders and folders are organized at all times and papers do not ever get lost.

3.3.3– Make sure new cadets are competent when putting in orders of any kind.

Chapter Four -How to Oversee Cadets

4.1– Make sure all Cadets are Fully Trained and Capable

4.1.1– Without capable commanders, assistant commanders, and representatives, our program would have extreme difficulty running. So it is of the upmost importance that we train them to be the best they can in both Logistics and in Admin and Personnel.

4.2- Make Sure Cadets Understand all Chain of Command and Rules of their Zone

4.2.1 – In order for cadets to efficiently work in a constantly moving area such as Operations Squadron, they must know the upper classmen above them. They must also know the rules and zones for where they are allowed to go. Example: non- supply cadets in logistics.

4.3- Know and be Trained in all Area’s Yourself –

4.3.1Train in the tracking system and all other fields which the squadron depends on. This is in case one of your job commanders needs help, you can fully assist them.
