FACILITYTaylor YMCA pool is a 6 lane, 25-meter course with starting blocks and non-turbulent lane markers. A Daktronics scoreboard and automatic timing system with buttons at both ends of the course will be used. The depth of the pool at the starting end is 10 feet. Seating capacity is 250 persons. Team seating will be available in the gymnasium and all purpose room. Non-swimmers will be required to enter and exit the pool area through the locker rooms.

PARKINGParking at the Taylor YMCA is quite limited. Cars not parked in marked spots will be towed. Additional parking will be available at LarkinHigh School, just south of Taylor YMCA, at the corner of McLean Boulevard and Larkin Avenue, 1-1/2 blocks from the YMCA. We will have

the YMCA bus available to shuttle from LarkinHigh School to the Pool.

Each swimmer need to check in with their coach prior to the meet. In the coaching packet will be two entry lists, one list will be for the coach to check in each swimmer and one list is to turn in to the computer table with highlighted names of the swimmers who will not attend the meet.

EVENTSThe events will consist of the standard YMCA dual meet event list, including relays for 8&Under, 9-10, and 11-12 age groups. In addition, we will include open events . The events will be run as a deck seeded timed finals. A Hy-tek event export file is available for download at the Pelicans website. Submit the swimmers best times using short course yard times (SCY) to ensure proper seeding. Please do not convert times. Each event will be swum in heats with swimmers seeded from slowest to fastest.

MEET ELIGIBILITYOnly YMCA registered swimmers with times slower than the printed meet Time Standard in a particular event, will be eligible to swim that event.

ENTRY FEESIndividual Events:$3.00 per event

Relay Events:$10.00 per event

ENTRY LIMITSSwimmers are eligible to compete in a maximum of 5 events, no more than 3 of which may be individual events. Swimmers will compete in the age group with respect to their age on December 1st, 2009. Deck entries will be accepted at $6.00 per event and $20.00 per relay event payable at time of entry.

ENTRIESEntries will be taken on a first come, first served basis until the meet is full and may be submitted on the enclosed forms . Entries will also be accepted as a “zipped” commlink file (or .zip file) attached to an email, sent to , prior to the entry deadline. Please complete all entries must be in short course yards. (The meet will be competed in short course meters).

Complete entries will include the following: Entry Fees, Hard Copy, Signed Team Summary & Release Form, Completed Volunteer Form (Timers & Officials). All entries must be received by the entry chairperson no later than Saturday, January 14, 2010

BULLPENWe will run a bullpen for all swimmers, expecting all swimmers to check in with and remain in the bullpen for the entire time leading up to their event. Swimmers will be notified as to the events being called through the use of a megaphone and prominently placed placards signifying which events are being called.

AWARDSMedals will be given to places 1-6 and Ribbons for 7-12 place and will be available to coaches following the conclusion of the meet.

TIMERSEach team will be required to provide timers who will be assigned to a lane for a period of time to be determined by our meet director. Please list your timing coordinator on the volunteer form. We encourage teams to schedule multiple shifts of timers in advance to avoid confusion.

OFFICIALSEach team will be required to provide officials. The meet referee will schedule all officials. Please see the attached Volunteer Form.

PSYCH SHEETSPsych sheets for the meet will be available at the door for $5.00 If you purchase a pysch sheet a coupon may be redeemed for a Heat Sheet at start of the meet.

ADMISSIONSpectators will be charged an admission fee of $3.00. Swimmers and children will NOT be charged.

MEET RESULTSPrinted meet results will be distributed to each team following the conclusion of the meet if asked. Hy-tek results for Team Manager will be send by e-mail.

CONCESSIONS/SALESA full service concessions will be available on-site.

SPECIAL ITEMSThe fitness center (located in the gymnasium) at Taylor YMCA will be barricaded with yellow caution tape. No one will be allowed in this area. Any swimmer crossing into this area will be disqualified from competition. No exceptions!! Taylor YMCA is a smoke-free facility. Childcare for non-swimmers will not be available.
