Member Sign-Up /
  • Reminder for executive board members to sign-up for HALCEA membership
  • Maureen will have Andrew follow-up with Rosemary for sign-up difficulties. Let Maureen know if any additional problems with sign-up/passwords.
  • 30 members have signed up so far

Logo and Branding /
  • Discussion of logo and if current logo on HALCEA tablecloth could be used? Permission to use/copyright?
  • Decided to keep a mom & baby image but that the logo should be updated and made more current
  • Leah has a friend who designs logos and will follow-up with her on pricing and copywriting information

Half Day Conference /
  • Goal of a half-day conference sometime this year
  • Members will pay online/sign-up ahead of time
  • Possible speakers: Dr. Barrens & Dr. Raylene Phillips (from Loma Linda, CA)
  • Conference to be 4-6 months from now on a Saturday
  • Location needed – Maureen will check room availability at Methodist, The Women’s Hospital, Memorial Hermann, and Texas Childrens
  • Location to be centrally located for the Houston and surrounding area
  • Lactation consultants, nurses, OBs, and pediatricians to be invited

Future General Meetings /
  • Board agreed to maintain 1 meeting per quarter
  • March date – looking at Tuesday, March 28 in Sugarland, in the evening, proposed USLCA webinar
  • Rosemary to look for room availability at Methodist Sugarland
  • June date still undecided, proposed evening of case studies. Further details tabled at this time.

Executive board members to look at USLCA website for webinar suggestions
Board Member Roles /
  • Marlene is looking to ease off the executive board in the next 4-6 months
  • Nicole Kerbow from Memorial Hermann Southeast had volunteered to be the webmaster at the December general meeting. Elena to follow-up with Nicole to confirm continued interest and commitment.
  • HALCEA bylaws need to be updated to include the role of webmaster
