RESCUE and REHOME AGREEMENT FOR PLACEMENT
AND TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP TO THE IRISH WATER
SPANIEL CLUB OF AMERICA RESCUE and REHOME COMMITTEE
The Irish Water Spaniel Club of America (hereinafter referred to as the Club) is the American Kennel Club’s recognized breed club for the Irish Water Spaniel (IWS). It is a 501(c)(3) public charity. One of the Club’s charitable activities is rescue and rehoming of abandoned, abused or neglected IWS. The Club’s Rescue and Rehome Committee also rehomes the IWS whose owners (for whatever reason) can no longer care for their dogs and wish to have the Club place them in an appropriate adoptive home.
When an IWS’s ownership is transferred to the Club’s Rescue and Rehome, the dog is provided a thorough health examination by a licensed veterinarian and is brought current on inoculations, micro-chipped for identification and is spayed or neutered, if necessary, with any and all costs for the previously mentioned paid for by the IWSCA rescue funds. The dog is groomed and evaluated for appropriate placement into an approved adopted home. If necessary, the dog is fostered for the time necessary to do some basic obedience training and for the dog’s health and physical condition to be stabilized. The Club Rescue and Rehome Committee will exercise due diligence in finding a good ‘fit’ for the dog’s new home. The Club also assigns permanent mentors to work with the adoptive owners, so that permanent contact is maintained for each placement, to assure the continued well-being of the dog.
Understanding and acknowledging the above information, I would like to transfer ownership of the below listed IWS to the Irish Water Spaniel Rescue and Rehome.

I understand this IWS will be fostered until placed in an adoptive home. The placement will remain under the supervision of the IWS Rescue and Rehome Committee. I further understand that I shall not have any further rights of ownership to this IWS or any involvement in the selection of an adoptive home.
Certification:
I certify that I am the legal owner of the above described IWS and have unencumbered the right to transfer ownership of same. I will hold the Irish Water Spaniel Club of America Rescueand Rehome Committee harmless for any damages that might result from any other party who claims ownership of this IWS. (Note: In the event that there are multiple owners listed on the AKC registration papers, all co-owners’ signatures must also be included below, except in the case where a co-owner is deceased.)
