Job Description – Sales Engineer

Campbell Scientific Europe is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Sales Engineer to work as part of the engineering support group. Campbell Scientific Limited places great emphasis on providing its customers with the highest possible standards of service. The main role of a Sales Engineer is to develop new business and be the primary interface between the company and the customer, or potential customer. To fulfil this role, and assist the company in meeting its objectives, a Sales Engineer must demonstrate technical aptitude, customer focus, and sales effectiveness, along with good communication and teamwork skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

·  Searching for new customers who would benefit from Campbell Scientific products or services.

·  Respond to customer enquiries as promptly, efficiently and effectively as possible.

·  Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs.

·  Establishing new, and maintaining existing, long-term relationships with customers.

·  Producing proposals and quotations.

·  Advise and assist customers in selecting and using the Company’s products and services, to solve their applications requirements.

·  Provide technical and manufacturing information to Production, where necessary for the completion of orders, including non-standard products and services.

·  Promote and demonstrate the Company’s products and services at exhibitions or to customers where appropriate.

·  Recording and maintaining customer contact data.

·  Undertake travel on Company business when required, including overnight stops in the UK and overseas.

·  Represent the Company in a friendly, helpful and professional way at all times.

·  Manage and take responsibility for other specific areas of marketing, Company products or services as required by the Company.

·  Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the Company’s products and services.

·  Ideally demonstrate competence in a European language such as French, German or Spanish, or be prepared to study a suitable language.

Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate will have a technical aptitude, preferably qualified to HNC or equivalent, coupled with extensive experience in a relevant field including elements of customer facing work such as sales, service or technical support.

Experience in bidding/proposal preparation and the ability to read and understand bid/proposal specification, both from a technical perspective and commercial perspective, as related to Contractual Terms and Conditions

Candidate must have very good communication skills and knowledge of the MS office package (Outlook,Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is expected.
