H. Foundation Level Mathematics
A pass in foundation level mathematics at B2 level or higher will be accepted as meeting the minimum entry requirements for programmes which currently require a minimum entry level of D3 in ordinary Leaving Certificate mathematics, with the exception of engineering (including all programmes at Letterfrack) and nursing.
Where foundation level mathematics is accepted as a passing subject, at a minimum B2 grade, the following points scoring system will apply:
A1 / A2 / B1 / B220 / 15 / 10 / 5
Note: Applicants are advised that while foundation level mathematics may meet the minimum mathematics requirement for entry to certain academic programmes, some employers require mathematics at ordinary level or higher to meet minimum educational attainment for some positions.
I. Higher E in Mathematics
A Higher E in Mathematics meets the minimum OD3 Maths requirement on all programmes.
J. Enabling Mathematics
A pass performance of 60% in the GMIT Enabling Maths programme meets the minimum OD3 Maths requirement on all programmes with the exception of engineering (Galway, Castlebar and Letterfrack) and nursing.
K. Foundation Level Irish
Foundation Level Irish, at minimum B3 level, meets the minimum language requirement for entry to all programmes with the exception of nursing.
No CAO points are awarded for foundation level Irish.

Foundation Level Mathematics
Foundation Maths will meet the Maths requirement for entry to the following Programmes only at Limerick Institute of Technology:
LC701 - B.Sc. in Music Technology & Production (Level 7)
LC761 - Higher Certificate in Engineering in Technology in Video & Sound Technology (Level 6)
LC921 - B.A. (Hons) in Applied Social Studies in Social Care (Level 8)
LC931 - B.A. (Hons) in Business with Tourism Management (Level 8)
LC941 - B.A. (Hons) in Business Studies with Event Management (Level 8)
LC961 - Higher Certificate in Business in Front Office Management (Level 6)
LC971 - Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Arts & Performance Management (Level 8)
Points will be awarded as follows:
A1 20 points
A2 15 points
B1 10 points
B2 5 points
Foundation Level Irish
Foundation Level Irish at B3 Level will meet the minimum language requirement. No points are awarded.
