NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT – Renie Pollock

  • ART ON THE VINE IS COMING UP SOONER THAN YOU THINK!!!We need your donations - old paintings that you are willing to let us cut to fit frames or older small unframed paintings, decent old frames (no bigger than 16" x 20"), already framed smaller pieces of art, and/or your time and energy to frame donated art. We are scheduling Sunday February 25 and Monday February 26, 10 am - 4 pm to frame donated works
  • INSIDE…OUTSIDE – I think this was one of the best member show’s we’ve ever had. It’s exciting to see all the new members who have decided to participate along with our familiar friends. Be sure and vote for your favorite piece in the gallery so that we can honor these artists with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes at the end of the show. ONE VOTE PER PERSON, PLEASE, so it’s fair and square. Our popular prize winners from last year – Doreen Currie, Gloria Gonzalez, and Sarah Hunter – are represented beautifully on the new walls as well. Conratulations, Ladies!
  • ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF MEMBERSHIP- My sweet husband Don worked diligently alongside our favorite carpenter Gary Mentch and Rick Long as they rebuilt our classroom walls to support the installation of our permanent collection. We got it up in the nick of time for the opening and it looks pretty impressive. A variety of other needed repairs were made and everything’s looking good for a wonderful 2018.
  • MEMBERSHIP DUES AND ARTIST MARKET FEES – If you haven’t paid your 2018 dues or AM fees they are due right now. PLEASE NOTE THAT 2018 DUES ARE AS FOLLOWS: INDIVIDUAL $40, FAMILY $70, STUDENT $25. ARTIST MARKET FEES ARE STILL $35. Our lists will be purged in both categories at the end of January, so don’t let your memberships lapse and go to Paypal, mail a check, or pay by credit card when the center reopens on January 15, 2018.
  • A very special thanks to those who have made DONATIONS to our center – ONE OF OUR DEAREST LONG STANDING MEMBERS, NACY GALM, HAS MADE A VERY NICE DONATION TO OUR CENTER. Nancy and I go back many decades when I was a newbie with the Greensburg Art Club and also as one of my most successful artists who showed at my gallery Style and Substance. It’s so nice to be reminded of old friends. Wish we could still see you here in Greensburg again. And many thanks to CAROLYN FALCON who honored us with her donation to help keep GAC alive and well. Your generosity is definitely appreciated.
