I would like to be considered for this board position because I want to be involved in the ONS in a greater way. I believe that ONS is a wonderful organization that encourages oncology nurses to make a bigger impact on society. ONS is also an organization that encourages nurses to advance their practice as well. Being a part of the membership and leadership team will give me the opportunity to encourage others to join ONS.

I wish to be part of the leadership board of GLA/ONS so that I can give back for the many years I have been a member. I was treasurer of GLA/ONS many years ago and I enjoyed that position and learned many valuable things being part of the board. GLA/ONS is something I have always valued and appreciated. It has kept me informed and updated in the many facets of my Oncology Clinical practice. It has been a source that has connected and provided a network to other clinicians, physicians and leaders in the field. Oncology nurses, I have always felt were very special. We are the support for our patient, families, and support for one another. I find this support, mentoring and education by being part of ONS. I want to contribute and learn another role that I hope will benefit our members and me. A person once asked me “how can you be and Oncology nurse?” My answer has always been “How can I Not”.
