Summer Term Newsletter 2016

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the summer term- it’s just a shame that the weather hasn’t realised it yet!

Parents Consultations

As agreed, we are planning to have parents’ consultation days. We will send your child’s books home prior to this meeting so you can have time to look at them before having a discussion with your child’s class teacher. Nearer the time, I will send out a form which will give you the opportunity to let us know exactly whether you require a consultation, either by phone or in person and your availability. We have set aside two dates for this to happen- Thursday 27th June and Monday 27th June. Staff will be available throughout the day until 5.30pm at night. However, as always, please let us know if you cannot attend on these dates and we will try and organise an alternative time.

East Barnby Parents’ meeting: Y5/6 children go on residential on the week beginning 6th June. Martin Wynn and I would like to have a meeting on Wednesday 11th May at 3.30pmto discuss the week in detail and the items the children will need. Please let us know if you are available/unavailable to attend ASAP.

Inspiration needed!!! We are really keen to further develop our playground areas and brighten them up. If anyone has any ideas please let us know. Similarly, the Summer Barbecue is in sight so if you can think of anything you would like to see there or improvements we can make, please tell us!

E-safety: Chapel Haddlesey Primary School (just off A19) are organisingan e-safety meeting for parents on Tuesday 24th May at 6.30pm. You are most welcome to attend if this is an area you require more information about. It is intended to provide information for parents about how to keep children safe on the internet at home. Please let us know by Wednesday 11th May.

Father’s Day lunch: It’s that time of year again!!We will be celebrating Father’s day by having activities from 11am-12pm, followed by lunch at 12-1pm. We have space for each family to invite ‘one male person’ to join them. You can either attend the whole event or just the activity or lunch. Please book a place by Friday 27th May. We are really sorry but we will be unable to accommodate any one after this date.

Y6 Pupils- DeLacy Academy: I have had a meeting with Abbey Austin from the DeLacey Academy last week to discuss the transition arrangements. We are still waiting for final dates but she did confirm that there will be a bus coming to Fairburn to pick up the children. We also had a good chat about all the pupils and we discussed which sets they will start in in September. She had a lovely manner with the children and was delighted with how polite and friendly they all were.
